Grateful Bread - Freakbeat Vegetarian — Restaurant in Lincoln

This place used to rule - a quaint and quirky shop, serving really good soups and pastries. I don’t live in Lincoln anymore, but used to go to grateful bread all the time. It is one of the places I used to get homesick for.

I was in town last week for thanksgiving and picked up lunch on Wednesday. Even though there were ten people in line, i waited for nearly two hours (no exaggeration) for them to be sold out of Moroccan Tomato Soup and down to the last cheese scone.

I've been coming here all my life, and their food really just hits the spot. Our favorites are tomato soup and cheddar scones. And you can't go wrong with mac 'n' cheese here either. Takes 3-5+(!) Minutes per person at the counter. The line is always long. Seriously, this is the slowest food service you will ever find But the food is good, and I'm glad to support a gem of a local place like this while we still have them ❤️
