Sportscasters Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Lincoln

I recently visited Sportscasters during a particularly busy period and was generally impressed with the experience. Our server, Tiffany, was absolutely wonderful. Despite the rush, she was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Matt was also quick with our beverage service, which was much appreciated. The food prepared by Walker also seemed to come out in a timely manner, which was impressive given how busy it was. Jackie, who appeared to be the manager on duty, seemed to be running a tight shift, which kept things moving. However, I did observe some instances where communication between the bar and the serving staff seemed a little strained. Perhaps improving this flow of information could make the service even smoother. Overall, my experience at Sportscasters was positive, largely due to the excellent service from Tiffany and Matt, and the efficient work of the cook, Walker. My only suggestion would be for management to ensure clear communication channels are open between all staff and to remember that servers are working hard and doing their best, especially during busy times. Normally I enjoy Sportscaster. Good food, good prices. But last Sunday we went in before the football rush. We were one of five tables when we arrived just before noon. We ordered. 45 minutes later we got our appetizers. An hour in the waitress said they got slammed. They were busy, but our ticket should have been one of first five. To get to the point quickly, we ended up leaving at 2:15. That is over two hours waiting on our food and every other table in the place had theirs. Our waitress pretty much avoided our table and eye contact. I had prepaid at 115 since my son had somewhere to be, I didn’t want to be held up with a check when we were done eating. When we gave up at 215 I left the receipt unsigned and wrote refund requested since we were there 2+ hours. I have had the opportunity to sample food at most of Lincoln's sports bars as well as many top sports bars across the country. I have become a frequent visitor to Sportscasters Bar and Grill for a number of reasons including excellent food.

I find the variety, and quality of the food to be far above average bar food, but what separates Sportscaster even farther from other Bar and Grills, is the exceptional service and atmosphere.

The waitress and bar staff are well trained and they know the menu and deliver exceptional service and contribute greatly to the always friendly atmosphere at Sportscasters. They do not seem to suffer from the constant turn over of help that is normal for many Bar and Grills.
