I’m giving this place a low rating because of how rude Hope was! This was my first experience going into Breakfast and Things just to order take out and there were about 4 or 5 other people standing in front of the door… so I decided to open the door and stand there with the door open (mind you this is the second door, not the entrance door), and Hope comes over and rudely yells “Can we close the door? The door needs to be closed. You either need to be in or out…” and she’s just going on and on about how the second door needs to be closed. How rude and embarassing! She yelled at me in front of everybody and way to beat a dead horse, just ask me nicely to step inside and ask what I need. How was I supposed to know where to go if this was my first time in the building? She asked me if I was picking up (the other people were waiting for another person to be seated), and I walk up to the counter because I was unsure where to stand and I said “yeah”, she says “yeah, what?” She literally just asked me if I’m picking up! So I say “yeah, I am picking up” and I tell her the name and she asks me if I need utensils or whatever else, I said I needed utensils and she said okay. Then she rings up my order and asked me again if I needed utensils, I literally just told her 10 seconds prior that I said yes. The whole experience was just super embarassing and I went home crying! How can you work with customers but be so incredibly rude?! You can tell that she is confidently disrepectful in the way she talks and her body language. She seems like a miserable person and I feel sorry for her. That was my first experience and I won’t go back. After this I wish the best for Hope, and I wish she will find a job that she truly enjoys because she looks so miserable at...
Read moreI just really liked this place from the moment I walked in and had a seat. I was greeted by a very friendly, down to earth woman, who waited on me in the nicest way. She offered me something to drink, so I asked for.a cup of coffee and that really tasted great! Then I ordered breakfast and let me say, that I was very pleased with the food as well as the service there. I instantly felt right at home and instantly decided I wanted to come back again to try some other things on the menu. I even said to the lady that I will be coming back and I have at least 3 more times!! The last 2 times I had there "Smokey Joe Burger", mmm, mmm, good! And this very last time I tried their Fisherman's Platter,OMG! So good! It comes with Haddock fish and shrimp and fried clams and scallops. Now I didnt want the scallops, but that's ok because. if you don't like a particular part of this dish you can just swap it for a little extra of something else on the plate. They are very accomadating to what you would like,if they have what you would like they're surely going to provide it to you. The only thing about that meal is they do not have any cocktail sauce,if you wanted that for your shrimp, but you know what it's even just as good without it! To me this food is just so delicious, I would be surprised to know anyone who tries there food would want to visit there again. I definitely would recommend this place, only thing is I wish its hours open would be longer! It's only open 6am-2pm. Whether you try their breakfast or lunch I believe you will enjoy the food and the friendly customer service you'll receive. Hope you enjoy it as...
Read moreAlice Smith, I find this very hard to believe. I always start my weekend, including this morning, with breakfast here and it's always a great start to the day, particularly in terms of the staff and their service. Always pleasant, always inviting and engaging. I've never seen the staff as being less than polite with even the rare unpleasant customer. Plus they work hard, I noticed that on my first visit. I sit at the counter and so I'm usually served by the specific employee who's name you felt necessary to share repeatedly here. Why would anyone do that? This is a small business and I hope you considered when you wrote this how much damage you can do to the reputation of both the business and the individual you chose to identify here. These small places go out of business all the time, regrettably. Your review has nothing to do with the quality of this restaurant and literally everything to do with an individual whom you clearly have a problem with which you described in detail. You mentioned that this was a take-out order, your first, and that your incident happened next to the door, so you have never actually experienced having breakfast here, never sat down? I have read and re-read your review and it reads more like a dramatic personal problem than the objective evaluation that people read restaurant reviews for. This place is exactly what we should expect for a good breakfast at a comfortable diner. Anyway, how was your food, Alice? Let's get something...
