Tropical Time caribbean cuisine — Restaurant in Lisle

The food is AMAZING! However the customer service SUCKS! The young lady serving the meals and calling out the orders was very rude! My husband inquired about the price difference with what is displayed overhead verses what was actually charged. The overhead menu states the jerk salad is $7.50. We were charged $8. My husband ask why the price difference? She immediately got an attitude and told my husband that the prices are subjected to change as it states that in the menu. She points to the menu for my husband to look at. My husband was like I wasn't looking at the paper menu, I am looking at the overhead menu. He told her I mean no harm but the menu overhead should reflect the actual prices. She stated well whatever the machine charges, that's what will be honored!??!! HUH????!!!! BAD BUSINESS! YOU SHOULD HONOR WHAT IS PRINTED OVERHEAD! VERY MISLEADING AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Now I'm feeling cheated and deceived. Very disappointing. We won't be back. Good food. Just pay attention to how they are charging you! It's deceitful! I will be contacting BBB.

I see the manager finally responded AND proved my statement to be true! 50 cents, 1 cent, it's misleading and your response, once again, RUDE!!! SMH take some lessons on how to treat your customers and God Bless your ministry! We all know customer service definitely...

8/23/2025 Grand opening.Food just didn't taste the same me tasting the chicken was like tasting chicken from a propane grill.When I bought in Northlake and Maywood always had steam coming from chicken and hot this didn't have that didn't have that pimento wood with that distinguish flavor...red beans was good mac on point...yam didn't have enough nutmeg flavor..I just wasn't feeling it at least my stomach wasnt..Customer service was great Attitude lady was there she was very nice and helpful glad she doing good with her customer relation. . Food great but lady at front like she got a attitude i miss the elderly lady she more friendly especially when you been spending your money to them for like 3-4 years ..attitude I just bypass it cause I want my food the cooks are very nice they come out and they greet you. Attitude lady she getting nicer lol....miss my family though I live in Indiana but I will drive to them for good meal its worth it.....aka BJ.......I know price of chicken went up but damn jerk dinner 3 sides $17 white...

Stopped at Tropical times this morning. Scheduled opening time 11am. Does not open, not answering phone. My son knocked on back door to ask if open. Male worker spoke very rudely stating we open at 11am. hou knocked on the door and interrupted me from cooking. My son stated its after 11am. The make employed said dont knock on my door to interrupt me. Called main line to report incident, female answering said ok. I asked if that behavior was ok, she acted indifferent. This establishment does not appear to value their customers. Another customer waiting heard the encounter, proceded to his car and left as we did. These are tough times, rudeness at anytime is unacceptable and should never be tolerated. This company won't have to worry about this customer ever again. I recommend if any person has this same or similar experience, STOP patronizing...
