Very disappointing,
Been to this restaurant multiple times before but it seems things have changed. First we were meeting 3 friends there. But the hottest did not have any name down , so we called out friends and they were in fact there..... lol. So we then asked the hotest to find our friends but he then began to seat us...that's not what we were looking for guy. So we then were actively on the phone with our friend and then they found us, that's when we should have left. Things just kept going downhill. As the fifth person I did not have a plate, silverware napkin. Apps came out good but never got asked to refill our cocktails. The waitress/OWNER?! was missing out quese on needing more water and or drinks and a NAPKIN. Hahaha. The napkin made our night though. Laughing and all. So meals came out everything was great but never came out to ask how things were and bus boys were no wear to be found even to ask for the extra water. Might try this place one more time but we shall see. So I wrote this while I was still sitting and no joke as we were leaving my friend and I saw a mouse twice run past us by the fireplace/wood area....
Read moreLa Catrina of Bantam offers a refreshing take on Mexican cuisine that blends authenticity with elegance. The food is genuinely delicious and full of authentic flavors — every bite feels thoughtfully prepared and true to its roots.
What really sets this place apart is the ambiance. The decor is light, simple, and stylish, giving it an upscale feel without being overdone. I especially loved the chairs — they add a unique charm to the dining experience. The wall art and photography are visually striking and add character to the space. It feels like every detail was intentionally chosen to elevate the overall vibe.
This isn’t your typical Mexican spot — it’s clearly designed to be a more refined experience, and the location and tasteful interior reflect that. Naturally, the pricing matches the look and feel. It’s on the higher end, but you’re paying for quality, atmosphere, and attention to detail.
If you're looking for a more elevated Mexican dining experience, La Catrina of Bantam is definitely...
Read moreWe had a very nice a tasty dinner in a Saturday night at La Catrina. The menus is a combination of Mexican comfort food like tacos and fajitas and more elaborate dishes including some very good moles. Drinks are creative and sometimes potent - beware of the jalapeño margarita. They were a bit understaffed that night (they are hiring and it is hard to get help, people) but our server was super sweet and with just a little patience we all had a very nice time.
Having said all this, it is very disappointing to see how rude and thoughtless some people are with their online reviews. This restaurant has been in business for literally 3 weeks (September was friends/family soft opening) and obviously some aspects are still a work in progress, but it is quality and welcome addition to the Litchfield dining scene. So to these people on their high horses carelessly dispensing one and two star reviews, please try to be a bit more balanced and supportive of...
