Flameburger — Restaurant in Little Canada

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This is by far the WORST customer service I’ve ever received in a restaurant in my life.

Came to Flameburger for the first time tonight. Party of 4, it was not terribly busy and we seated right away. The waitress came to get bring us water and straws. Eventually she came back and took our order in a timely manner. We got utensils ( only 3 of 4, and out of the 3, there was no fork in one of them ). We did not notice the missing water until after the additional drink (my friend ordered an additional drink and realized we were missing a water) came out. After our food came out, we attempted to get the cook’s attention but they didn’t pay attention to us. We got 3 out of 4 of our orders and patiently waited for our waitress to come back so we could ask for the water. She came to the back and took another tables order and checked on other customers around us. We asked her for A1 sauce and she said she would come back with it and never did. My friend attempted multiple times to get her attention and she did not respond. The food was bland and not enjoyable. We heard her go around asking other tables how the food was and if they needed anything but she never came to our table to ask us, which is very strange and horrible customer service. Our water cups needed to be refilled and never were, just terrible customer service overall.

The second waitress who was not our originally one was nicer and actually helped us. Thank you for being kind and actually being attentive to bringing us our A1 sauce after waiting 30+ minutes after our food came out already. Unfortunately it didn’t make up for the difference between the things that occurred but appreciated your efforts.

Will not be returning to this establishment when you cannot treat all of your customers with the same respect...

I'm going to preface this by saying that Flameburger is now a hidden gem if you enjoy a good hot plate of chicken and waffles.

New location (nextdoor to the old one!) is great. A familiar layout with more seating and newer finishing. The food is still pretty good for your common late night diner. If you've been here in the past, give it another go! The menu has also been updated with a couple new things.

Food is great. Yeah, some folks might be put off by how basic a lot of the fare is. But set your expectations. This is exactly the point of this place. It's not over the top, showy, or frivolous but they make it well. It's just what you need right now and nothing more. We're talking generous portions that deliver, the kind of thing that won't judge you for being a wreck after having rolled out of bed after staying up too late (because you're hungover from another wild night capped off by a visit to Flameburger at 3am).

I used to get the Ranch Breakfast, perfect big American breakfast, nothing over the top or special (that's not a slight). The newly added Chicken and Waffles are dangerous though, and I can't help but pick that every time now to the detriment of my cardiovascular system--highly recommend (add hot sauce if you know what's good). The good news is that I work in the cardiac medical device industry, so it probably balances out. For lunch, the burgers are good and I highly recommend the onion rings. Get that cardiologist on retainer for me if I visit twice in a day. ...so that I can take all that with an IV of chocolate malt on the side.

Side bonus. If you're looking for a contractor or tradesman, here's where they congregate. Show up around 7am and start...

I have been a regular customer for over the last 2 years. I have steadily ordered the same thing 4 nights a week on the regular. Every other server has been more than happy to take my order and have personally recognized my phone number and knew what I wanted. Took less than 30 seconds most of the time. However, recently, the server who is seen to wear "Bears, as in the football team, attire" doesn't like to take late night phone calls, because she is TOO busy with other customers. Walk in, last one to attend to. She left me on hold for 6 plus minutes while she was talking about getting her nails done with someone else. Never came back to the phone. When asked about it in person she laughed it off like it was funny. As a former restaurant owner, no one has more respect for what servers go through, as to why I always tip 30 plus percent no matter what if treated right. This particular server received no tip the other night for pulling the same thing. I tried to give them another shot as to having worked another long day(16hrs plus) and wanting nothing but a great cheeseburger, but was denied service because I called her out on not wanting to take phone calls and doing her job. She claimed she was the manager, but clearly was not. Unfortunately, they used to have great food but horrible late night service. As one of my used to be all time favorite restaurants, I would have given them 10 out of 5 stars. With that particular server in place I would give them 0 stars. I will not spend another penny...
