Rook Coffee — Restaurant in Little Silver

I walked into rook, wanting a normal $15 gift card, I got the gift card no problem. When I returned to my car, I noticed that the gift had been used. The gift card was not only scratched but had black sharpie scribbled out and the amount $2.75 written on it. I went back into the store, wanting a new card. When I told and showed the cashier my gift card, her response was "I know, there is still $15 on it, you can still use it" I was baffled, I told her I would like a new one since it was used and also that it was a gift. A few minutes later I walked out the door with a normal $15 gift card....

In general, Rook Coffee is always a win for me when I visit. Polite and cheerful staff and amazing coffee. What's not to like? This particular outpost of Rook is quickly becoming my favorite though. The design of the store is especially interesting. It resides in an old ticketing & waiting room and the crew from Rook were careful to leave what is beautifully vintage design attributes in the old station in tact, while seamlessly gliding into the space with all their needed equipment. The people are very nice. Very informative, I learn more about there coffee's with each visit. The sumatran is a dark roast is my favorite so far. The Guatemala is a medium roast irs also also very good. When you first walk in the smell is intoxicating. Even when packed the line moves quick. I have been to the Holmdel, little silver & long branch stores & the service is good, very professional. A friend of mine introduced me to rook coffee I can't thank her anough.
