Valley City Chill and Grille — Restaurant in Liverpool Township

Came in on our way home from a funeral. It's so hot and muggy today, so I needed a cold beverage after being outside in the heat. We stopped here because it had good reviews.

Came in and placed our order. Went in back and proceeded to wait 25-30 minutes before the food came out. Which had none condiments that we asked for for the burger and gyro. No taziki sauce for the gryo. I asked for ketchup & mustard for the burger. Nothing. No ketchup for our fries. Still no drinks, I was mainly there to get one. 30 minutes now, still no drinks.

Honestly, those should have been out first while food was cooking. He had other customers, but you finish one before doing 7 others. We had people come and go while we waited. After 35 minutes, still no drinks. Or condiments. The food is now cold. So we decide to leave. We can't seem to get adequate service at that point, and we mainly went there to get drinks because it's 90+ degrees out, and we came from a dang funeral. Very thirsty.

Then the guy I came in with asks if we owed anything. Apparently, $28. Never got my drink, didn't eat the food because we waited a long time for the condiments he said he was bringing right back.

No. He kept ringing up other customers and giving them their service.

We won't be back. I understand when a place is busy, but you wait on one customer at a time. We saw several people come and go go while we patiently waited. And the dude working was pretty rude. This wasn't a pleasant experience. Now we just wasted money on no food and still have to go somewhere else.

This is a great place with reasonable prices. There’s a variety on the menu, such as hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken Parmesan sandwiches, tacos, French fries and fish fry to name a few things!!😋 Did I mention homemade pierogis stuffed with mashed potatoes, and I mean stuffed!!! The service is always quick.

There’s also a huge selection of ice cream!!! The ice cream flavors are unique. The exhausted parent has a bourbon base which tastes like rum and has chocolate chips. 😋❤️ There is also a birthday cake type ice cream which has frosting in it. 😋❤️ Birthday cake type ice creams are hard to find. Also there is cannoli ice cream. Delish!!🍨🍦 This *%#&@ got serious is another type of ice cream which has a salted caramel base and chocolate chunks!!! Yummy!! Disappointed. What with COVID restrictions being lifted and all, I've been actively making a point of frequenting small, family-owned businesses out of support. I intentionally went out of my way and drove in from Brunswick to enjoy lunch and the small town vibe. I've been here two times in the past and it was decent/average, today was just bad.

What ruined it for me was the attitude of the woman who took my order, she had a perma-scowl on her face the entire time. I had a simple order, three hard tacos which were incredibly dry and average. No taco sauce and when I asked for simple things like an extra sour cream and a fork, she seemed really put off by my requests (sorry to inconvenience you). Just made me sad, was hoping for a pleasant lunch experience....
