Huddle House — Restaurant in Livingston

Been to this place twice. First time food was great, service was slow, but it was cold out and heat wasn't on yet. Girls were cold and just trying to stay warm.

The second time the service was horrible. The old grey hair waitress was a witch and that's putting it nicely. Horrible attitude, refused to refill drinks or come by table after throwing plates down.

I like crispy hash browns, but these were so hard you couldn't eat them. Omelette egg was good, but they didn't put the veggies meat in the egg, just threw on top. Pancakes were dry and flat. Biscuits were dry even with gravy.

Then you have to beg for someone to come to the register to pay. Literally they have no cashier!

The young ladies are nice and smile, but they need training. The old lady needs to be fired! The cooks are good, but they need to be more consistent. I know they can cook good, but they may be getting in the weeds because of no ticket control.

For a newer location, they are going to go down fast. Place is clean. That's a plus.

If you stop here, order simple, get a drink, plus water, you'll need it.

We dropped in on our way back to Conroe from Nacogdoches, and the food was hot, good, and exactly what we needed :). We are pretty familiar with Huddle House, (we used to frequent one in our hometown that closed earlier last year) and I was really impressed at how the team works together. Almost reading each others minds, I watched them seamlessly take plates, and greet and seat new guests within seconds! Our food also only took like…maybe 10 minutes to make. I also thought it was super cute that they had the stockings for the team up. Obviously I can’t know everything behind the scenes but it really seemed like everyone liked working there and supported one another. I also saw another server carry, like, at least 6 plates at once, and was so amazed!

Our server, Ashlyn, was so sweet and helpful. She was patient when my husband and I changed our minds on our order last second, and was on top of our refills and Togo drinks! We felt super taken care of. I can tell she develops relationships with her tables which makes us want to come back (we visit Nac pretty regularly) and ask for her...

2nd and last time to eat here. 1st time was great which is why we returned. We had an issue about service so we asked for the manager. Our waiter told the manager in a very loud, huffy voice "apparently I am not good enough for that table and they want you". Manager parroted what server said. When I advised her that our server on our previous visit had no problem she said that was her sister. Since that was really immaterial at that point I just thanked her and we began eating. Both our original server AND the manager brought us our check separately which I found amusing. We were the only table in the entire restaurant and still had to request more water as the 4 staff members were more interested in the story one of the managers was telling. The food is good which makes it more disappointing that we won't be going back. We were there over an hour at about 11:30 and not another customer came to eat. I hope they can turn around their customer service skills so that they can stay in business for...
