Luling Smoke House BBQ and Taqueria — Restaurant in Livingston

Love this place they open at 7 a.m. My daddy was wanting some barbecue and I was leaving work, work nights. So early in morning finding barbecue can be problematic. Most don't open till 9a.m. However Luling opens at 7a.m. and not only can you get eggs and brisket, etc. You can get barbecue sandwich, barbecue plate. If you want lunch instead. The food was amazing. Ordered two barbecue sandwiches, potato salad, beans, and drinks Was best barbecue I have had in a long time. Meat was tender melt in your mouth and not tough or dried out as I experience in lots of barbecue places. Luling was amazing I can't recommend it enough. I would say it's more of a grab and go place, take out. As I didn't see seating. However that was okay with me. We were in town visiting and were looking a bbq spot. Happened upon this one driving around. So happy we did. Food is to go only here but we'll worth it. We ordered the baked potato, loaded and the three meat plate. Potato was good size, soft, hot, and loaded with meat and all the other goodies. Three eat plate was very decently priced. He chose sausage, brisket, and ribs with potato salad and beans. Ribs were tender and flavorful, sausage was good, brisket was so tender. The pinto beans were perfectly cooked with a decent spice. Potato salad was a little sweet but good. We did get a little extra sausage and chise the habenero, green onion and cheese. It had the right amount of kick with decent amount of cheese. We had a family member in the hospital, and they wanted BBQ. We tried Luling as it was the closest one. My wife asked for thin sliced and was rebuffed with, we use a knife, several times by the two workers. They both seemed irritated that she even asked. We ended up buying a chop and the sliced beef sandwiches. The family member tried the chop beef sandwich and said it was bad. It may have been because he felt bad as I looked at it and tried some of the beef and it was OK just dry. They did include some sauce that would have helped.
