Time for a little honesty here. I am a person who is not comfy with Victorian era style resturants. In the past I have had very bland food and nothing was special about the expierence. Just creepy wall paper, old glassware and furniture that was hand made.
My spouse came across this place. The first time I layed eyes on the cottage people were rushing as fast as they could to get in the door. So we decided to wait till mid week to try this place. Hoping to not stand in the line that back all the way to the church next door.
We showed up just as the cottage that just opened for lunch. I was really overwhelmed with the sheer amout of Victorian I walked into. I was very uncomfortable. Than we got to the food....
My taste buds exploded. I had a mind numbing blast back to my childhood. The hand made rolls, the falling apart chicken fried steak, the simple pan fried chicken, meatloaf, hand made mash potatoes, skillet gravy and the mock pecan pie(do not miss this). When I say I was in a food comma this was an understatement. I had to go back to the cabin and take a nap for almost 4 hours.
We went back two days later just to make sure it was not a fluke. lt was not, this day we had pulled pork that was added to the buffet. Tender falling apart with a BBQ sauce that was simple. I watched as my spouce started to cry as she said this fried chicken tastes just like my grandmothes fried chicken. Who passed when she was a little girl. After excusing herself from the table we finished our meal and round two for a nap at the cabin.
I loved the expierence I had here both times. Yes, I still get the heebie jeebies when I walk into the Victorian Era overload. I got comfortable with the blast back to my childhood with the food. From the front of the house to the back of the house the staff was great and helpful.
Overall the expierence was second to none. A simple and old school food expierence is not what I came looking for. What I recived was a mind blowing trip down memory lane as well as my spouce. I cannot wait to eat here again. I look forward to coming back and seeing how much has not changed and getting that tear jerking expierence...

I really enjoyed the food when it was fresh, but when I experienced the in between hours, I was disappointed 😞
I come here once a month to enjoy the delicious buffet 😋 Once you enter the place, there is a little shop of all kinds of stuff, where you can buy things for your home or self. It's a adorable little shop. I come here for the ranch dressing, yes I know you can get ranch anywhere but their ranch reminds me of a diner I worked at when I was 16. It brought back memories 😌 I also get the fried chicken 🍗 it's very tasty and crispy, just the way I like it. However, I went yesterday with my family and a waitress with blonde hair come over to take our drink order, she took the order and we went to get our food, when we got back to the table, our drinks haven't arrived yet, we looked for her and didn't see her, after 10min another waitress brings out our drinks and made sure we found everything ok. We finally see the first waitress and she was waiting on a table with only men and every table that came in after that, that had only men, she would be the one that serves them. We felt like just because we are women she wouldn't serve us, I found that to be offensive to my taste, so thank you Hailey for taking care of us very...
Read moreWow what a great little restaurant. I stopped in alone Wednesday at 1145a for lunch. When you walk into the place it looks like a fancy bed and breakfast. You walk up to a counter like you're checking into a motel. I was greeted immediately and seated by a hostess.. we walked through what appeared to be a gift shop before we reached the seating area.
The inside of this entire place is extremely well decorated. It looks like the inside of an old Victorian house. A waitress was at my table shortly, took my drink order and asked if I wanted to see a menu or eat buffet. I took the buffet option.
She brought back water and a couple plates. They had a decent little salad bar setup. And several types of hot food, with soups. And several types of deserts. The place is pretty big inside and they were pretty busy.
I had a plate of salad and a little bit of hot buffet food. The food was good. The speed was amazing. The staff were polite and professional. The price was a bit high but I can forgive that in the grand scheme of things. The dining experience and decor inside is wonderful. I would definitely...
