I spotted a meal I had to try, “Carnitas al Limon.” It is described on the menu as “Shredded pork grilled with spicy sauce, onion and lime juice. Served with rice, ranchero beans, tortillas and lime wedges.” Doesn’t that sound good? It was a new meal to me and it appears it was a new meal to the cook also. The meal delivered to the table somewhat resembled the description. I pointed out to the waitress that the meal was to have rancho beans, refried beans were on the plate. She went to the kitchen and brought a small bowl of rancho beans. Had I known they were so bad I would have skipped them. The tasteless refried beans were no better. No tortillas. The Carnitas had not been grilled to a crisp outer texture as they should be before serving. There was no grilled onion on the plate. It was just roast pork that had been covered in a mild orange colored sauce. Not Carnitas, but the unseasoned roast pork under the sauce, was very good, tender juicy and there was a lot of it. It seemed obvious that the cook didn’t have a clue how to make Carnitas al Limon. He or she gave it their best try. It is very likely this was the first time this meal had been ordered in the restaurant. My wife had the Enchiladas Mexicana. One Chicken with green sauce, one cheese with cheese sauce and one beef with red sauce. They were done right. The red and green sauces tasted as if they were freshly made from scratch. The red sauce was real red chili sauce, not tomato sauce. The ground beef in the enchilada was well seasoned. Tasteless refried beans on the side and a dollop of prepackaged factory-made guacamole. If you do eat here, this is your best option. The salsas were bland, the chips were stale and turning dark from being over heated or reheated too many times. The food is a mixture of some good and some poorly prepared authentic Mexican food. Service is adequate. And then there is the credit card fee. The receipt stated that I could have saved $1.19 if I would have paid in cash. Thanks for letting me know. I reduced the tip by $1.19. We are square. If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" on Yelp. I've probably been there.

Got our food when the family of five that was seated after us.was done eating and getting ready to leave.our waitress forgot to take our order..after the meal we waited almost another 10 minutes, our son almost fell asleep waiting on our ticket, had to go get our ticket just to cash out...one other family in the restaurant besides us...wouldn't want to go there on a busy night...lol

Great food, excellent customer service. Called in my order this time and they had my Chicken Taco Salad ready in 5mins with drive-thru pickup! This is the only place I know of that fills the shell half full of meat or more and the other half with salad (lettuce, tomato, cilantro, onion, cheese, large scoops of guacamole and sour cream).

Used to come here alot before it got put under new management. Stopped tonight, and I knew from the moment I was seated, it was going to be horrible. The gentleman who seated us told us he would be right back with a high chair. He went back to the cash register and just hung out up there. 10 minutes later we were still waiting on a high chair. So I got it myself. Then the waitress comes up and says "what can I get you to eat?" We havent even ordered drinks yet. So we got our drinks ordered and she takes our food order. Our guac and queso app was disgusting. I used to love their queso and guac. It wasnt until probably 8 minutes into having our app that I realized I still hadn't gotten my drink. Keep in mind, there was 2 tables other than us. They weren't busy. So I finally get our waitress flagged down and she says she will have the drink brought to me. She did. My margarita was okay. (Reason for 2 stars instead of 1.) Our food comes out. My sons order was messed up so it was sent back. Then when he got his quesadilla, it wasn't even cooked enough to make the cheese melt. I finally get to start eating my meal and I notice that the fajitas had absolutely no seasoning. They used to have a wonderful bold flavor. I figured I would just pick at it until I got my tortillas. The steak was so tough I could hardly chew it. I tried to get servers attention several times to no avail. By the time she finally came to our table, my boyfriend was completely through with his meal as was my son while I had barely gotten to eat any of mine. So, I finally got to start eating my food and we never saw her again. Went to check out and the gentleman asked how my meal was, I told him it was my worst experience at this restaurant ever honestly. He responded with "okay. $36.70 please." Needless to say, they've lost me and my...

Bad food, bad service!! Went on Friday night after Thanksgiving. This is not Mexican food and is an insult to real Mexican food. Real enchiladas are actually made with corn tortillas not flour as they were here, the rice had no flavor very bland, I took one bite of the chile rellenos, very bad, no flavor, made with processed cheese product instead of using real cheese. Tip off for bad Mexican food is everything is smothered in brown sauce where you cant taste how bad the food really is. My girlfriend ordered a 12 oz strawberry margarita and the waitress told her she would have to get a 16 oz if she wanted strawberry, she could not drink all of it and put it in a to go cup, but when we started to leave the manager sent out a teen waitress to tell her she could not leave with it, after he had just came to our table and asked if she wanted another one and did not say anything about the to go cup. We thought it was funny he sent out a teen waitress to tell us instead of himself. We waited 5 min to get silverware after our food was delivered to table. I feel bad for the people of Locust Grove if that is the best so called Mexican food there is in town. Definitely not real Mexican food or...
