Update: Friday, May 5, 2023 DQ did not disappoint tonight. I went there specifically to use the 50% off the burger meal deal that I found on the app. They were happy to cook the meat and the fries fresh so they were nice and hot. There was some kind of a mixup with the toppings for the burgers but they made it right with no problem. The meat had a good mouth feel and taste. The fries are good when they are hot, which they were. For dessert I had a chocolate blizzard! They had a steady stream of customers on this Friday evening. The employees are super, friendly and very accommodating. Kudos!

I have a history with this Dairy Queen going back decades! When they first opened, they had a raffle/drawing for prizes and I won a red radio flyer wagon! I still have that wagon. It’s still in the box! Can you imagine what a collector‘s item that will become? I frequent the restaurant for the chicken strip dinner, hamburgers and ice cream treats. UPDATE-12/9/2023--Dairy Queen location has been sold to a new owner. We will miss the friendly, welcoming atmosphere present under the previous owners. Though food remains the same, good as usual, the surroundings are now barren, cold, and not welcoming. Several tables and chairs have been removed. Most irritating on our last visit was our entree. We usually order the three pieces chicken strips, without fries but on top of a salad. This times, there was less than there should be of the cut-up chicken strips. We've been ordering this for years, so know when we are getting shortchanged! When we pay for three chicken strips each per salad, we expect to get three chicken strips per salad, not less than two each! Most disappointing. Plus, the salad dressing had a use by date of 10/16/2023! Almost two months ago! And as for the sundae, going to bring my magnifying glass next time to see the topping. Guess DQ deservedly comes down several spots from its top position as our favorite fast food location. Most recent visit was great! Food was fresh and hot! Blizzards, as usual, tasted great. I came in for lunch. There was no where to sit so I got my double cheese burger with bacon. $9.74 just for a double cheese burger with bacon. My burger was ready in less than 3 minutes. By the time I got to my car, with the burger and got the burger out of the bag, both the top and bottom bun were completely saturated with grease and it started falling apart before I could even get it in my mouth. I managed to get a bite but made a total mess of the burger. I wrapped it back up and took it back. I wanted my money back. The manager gave me attitude. The store, was still full, so I raised my voice a little bit and told him, " I grew up with dairy queen 1/2 mile from our house in sacramento. I also raised my family 1 mile away from a DQ In Orangevale. I've eaten hundreds of dairy queen burgers and this is by far the worst burger I've ever had, from anywhere and I want my money back!
