A friend recommended this place so we decided to try it. Pulled up to it sitting atop a hill, motorcycles filling the parking lot. We parked in the overflow lot across the street. They had some seating outside but we decided to go in. We walked in and we were greeted by a woman behind the bar, told us to find any seat we wanted. We walked to the back and found a table big enough for our group of 6. Our server came right over and got our drink order, and with 4 kids, it was just soft drinks and water. It took forever to get our drinks. When she came back, she took our order and told us they were short staffed and it would be longer than normal. Ok, so we waited. We did order cheese sticks as an appetizer and thought they would be easy enough to stick in the fryer and come out. They came out 30 minutes later, and there were only 4 sticks. That didn’t start my impression off good to be honest, since our family had to split them in half to enjoy. Something the server should have mentioned since she saw the size of our party and knew the size of the order. I mean, come on, most places give at least 6 sticks. But I digress, they were yummy though. Then about 15 minutes later our food came out. My husband and I got the JimBo burger (10 oz!) and I got fries and coleslaw with mine. The kids got chicken tenders, and a pepperoni pizza. The burgers were huge! And cooked perfectly to order. The fries were good, not too big or small and a good amount of crisp. The coleslaw was delicious. The chicken tenders looked not that good, but my kids ate them. And the pizza, let me tell you about the pizza. It says 16”, and it is huge! They cut it into square pieces and it has like a garlic, butter, Parmesan taste on the bottom, like the topping of crazy bread. It’s a thin crust pizza, like very thin. The 4 kids devoured the entire pizza leaving only a piece. If I knew how good the place is, I would have come here again just for the pizza. Really is in the middle of no where but very yummy. Service is moderate in time, our server warned us. She was very nice, and all in all, we were there a little over an hour, so...
Read moreLocated in Hocking Hills State Park and worth the drive no matter where you are if you want the best hamburger you can find. I live only 38 miles from Jimbos and had heard time and again how good the burgers were and what a fantastic place this was to visit even if you're not hungry. Everything I heard is true. But if you are hungry and want the best hamburger you can find then Jimbos is the place. The roads to get to Jimbos are the kind bikers are looking for. I had some time recently and decided to cure my hunger and jumped on my Harley Fat Boy and pointed it toward Hocking Hills State Park. The ride was perfect with the beautiful weather and windy roads with good pavement. I was surprised when I got to Jimbos and saw how nice the place was with lots of covered outdoor seating with an outside bar. The inside was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff was amazing and they had enough people working to keep pace with the crowd. They have a good menu selection and any of the food ordered that was not a hamburger looked good. The hamburger however is delicious, and huge, big enough for 2 people and with home cut fries will fill both up. They serve cold beer but no liquor and plenty of other soft drinks served in cans. To say it's the best hamburger is certainly just my opinion but I love to try new places to eat and when I am leaving a review I do so knowing others may visit a place because in part due to something I said about the place. I've eaten a lot of hamburgers in my long life and this one made it to the number 1 spot on my list of good burgers.
Go visit Jimbos if you are up for a beautiful scenic drive and are looking for a great...
Read moreI was initially drawn in by the name and the pretty good reviews. Pulled up and it looked like a cool spot, I like that it's a little non-descript in appearance. Got out of the truck, and it smelled so good, so I was hopeful. Walked into a very cool space inside. Love the barn roof walls, space was well lit, and plenty of TV's for sports. Service was good, attentive. Good variety of beers and the 2 I had were cold. Kids ordered soda and 3 cans were delivered to the table...nice and easy. Ordered onion rings and cheese sticks to start. Rings were good, should have ordered 2. Cheese sticks were OK...4 were brought to the table, we are a family of 5. Marinara sauce was prepackaged and didn't have much flavor. We ordered 2 burgers, 2 subs, and 1 BBQ pork sandwich. BBQ seemed to be the best option. Subs were OK and each kid only ate half. I was expecting more from the burgers, given the name of the joint. We weren't asked how we wanted them cooked when we ordered, no big deal. They came out well done, prefer mine medium. Presentation was good but they didn't taste as good as they looked. The meat needed some seasoning and a little more sizzle on the grill to add to the flavor. I ended up putting salt on mine, which i rarely do, and it was better. I did eat the whole thing, but certainly didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Cool spot either way, just needed a little more...
