Tokyo Steakhouse: Where the Appetizers are Crispy and the AC is a Mystery Alright, Logansport, let's talk Tokyo Steakhouse. Stepping inside, I was immediately enveloped in an atmosphere that screamed "Asian decor," complete with all the vibrant reds and golds you'd expect. What I didn't expect was the subtle, yet persistent, hint of "tropical rainforest" that seemed to permeate the air. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a carefully curated hot yoga studio, leading me to believe the air conditioner was either on a permanent coffee break or simply a figment of my imagination. But before the main event, let's talk about the true star of the opening act: the lobster rangoon. Oh, the rangoon! These crispy, creamy pockets of pure joy were so good, they made me momentarily forget the bead of sweat trickling down my temple. Each one delivered a satisfying crunch, followed by a savory, rich filling that was nothing short of delightful. I'm pretty sure my plate was empty before I even realized I'd started eating them. Now, onto the main courses, because despite the rising internal temperature, the food was doing its best to distract me. The fried rice was, as always, a masterpiece. Each grain was a tiny, flavorful hero, perfectly cooked and ready to embark on its delicious journey. It's the kind of fried rice that makes you consider writing poetry. And the sweet and sour chicken? It was good, really good, though it arrived with a certain extra lubrication. Each piece had a sheen that suggested it had just been polished with a very enthusiastic oil rag. But, in true delicious fashion, I powered through, happily sacrificing a few napkins to its glorious, sticky, slightly slick embrace. So, despite feeling like I'd just completed a vigorous workout, I'd still give Tokyo Steakhouse a thumbs-up. The food and service are solid enough to keep it a contender in your Logansport dining rotation. Just remember don't dress in layers, or perhaps bring a small, personal fan. Consider it a unique, immersive...
Read moreWorst service I’ve seen in my life. My sister ordered a special drink and minutes after the rest of us got our drinks, I noticed the drink sitting on the counter. When I asked the server about her drink, he looks directly at it and tells us the kitchen was still working on it instead of just grabbing it. Then he takes our order and my sister simply asks is she is able to substitue a spring roll for the miso soup and salad that automatically comes with the meal. He tells her no, which is fine, but then when she asks if there is anything at all she could substitute it for, he sends another lady out to tell her no again rather than just not bringing the soup and salad. Then, everyone got their food, except for my sister. The rest of us basically finished our food and she still hadn’t got hers. So we went up to ask, and again the server says they were still working on it because she changed the miso soup?? This server then proceeded to not check on our table a single time. Not for refills, not to check that my fiancee’s steak was cooked properly, not even to ask us how our food was. Another lady had to get our refills for us and we sat for another 10 minutes after we were ready for our bill to even get a box. We asked if we could split the bill 60/40 between two cards. He told us we could only split it evenly and when we asked at the counter, the lady told us just to let her know how much on each card. This was such a disappointing experience for us. Used to be my favorite place in town but I don’t think I will find myself...
Read moreVery sad experience. I LOVE sushi!! Its been many years since I've had sushi and I was very excited to take my 11 year old to try it for the first time. We ordered a little bit of everything so she could get the full experience. Before I continue I must say that our server was absolutely awesome!! She even blew up balloons and drew cartoons on them for the kids 🥰 Now to the food.... it wasn't fresh and honestly i was a little worried that our meals would make us sick ( they didn't but i was worried) It wasn't anything like I have experienced with any other sushi restaurant ever and I have been to at least 10 in indiana. Granted I understand that we are not close to a coast to get super fresh fish however the way the fish is stored kinda concerned me. I don't know if it's just poor quality or poor refrigeration but it's not good. One of the favorite parts of a sushi meal for me is the miso soup and ginger salad. The miso was ok but the salad was sad 😔 I don't understand the flavors or pairing for the sashimi items. Same flavor over and over again and once again the fish wasn't good. We spent well over $100 and I promise we will never do it again. The whole experience minus our wonderful server was sad and disappointing. I would never recommend this...
