Sonics are considered an institution all their own in my home state of Oklahoma. You can't go wrong with any of their menu items. Always made to order & with fresh quality ingredients. Anytime I pull into a Sonic, it takes me back to my high-school days. Coming from a small town, we had nothing to do but drive around. Back in the day, managers would often let us teenagers hang out with our friends as long as we didn't cause trouble. We always bought something to eat & weren't freeloaders. Most have 2 outside tables to sit at. A Sonic cheeseburger & cherry limeade was my go-to. Btw Sonic headquarters is located in Oklahoma City.
It's been a few months since I'd been to this location. So, going home this evening, I was tired & didn't wanna cook, but I picked the WORST evening to stop. Everything ended up being a complete mess. Had to complain not once, not twice, but 3 times & things still didn't get FIXED. I was disappointed & kind of shocked. Sonic has always been on point, but NOT tonight. I've never had to send anything back to be redone. I'm just glad I checked my order before driving off. Nothing gets under my skin worse than driving 30 miles home, then realizing what I got wasn't what I ordered. The first thing was I ordered a bacon cheeseburger & but there wasn't any bacon on it. The funny thing was that someone put a bacon sticker right on top of the wrapper, so somebody new it was supposed to have bacon, but they didn't follow through with the actual bacon. Someone came out to get it & while I was waiting, I decided to check 2 small containers.I'd also ordered 1 w/chili & 1 w/queso, each $1.99. When I opened them, they maybe had 2 tbsp in the containers. My carhop girl was so sweet & kept apologizing. I felt bad for her because she didn't cause the problem, but she did do her level best to try & correct it. When she came to bring the cheeseburger, I took the opportunity to show her the chili & queso containers I'd received. Again, she apologized. I could see she was shocked & somewhat embarrassed that the cooking staff had royaly messed things up. She ended up taking everything back in & then brought the new order back out a few minutes later. I ask her stand by as I opened up the cheeseburger again. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm guessing the cook only had 1 single piece of dried out bacon. It was obvious they'd crumbled the bacon & sprinkled it over cheese to appear as if they'd put more on it. I was like, seriously, you think I wouldn't notice... š¤ At that point, my carhop teared up. So, I tipped her & left without checking the chili or cheese. Im sure the cook had no intentions of fixing anything properly I won't be going back to this location anytime soon. I'm hoping management will see my comment & possibly do something such as better training skills for all employees.
This place needs help badly. I waited almost 40 minutes for our food. The first time it came out it was wrong. The kid named Jimmy that works there is awesome. He knew we had been waiting for a long time. When he realized out food was already cold he had it remade. He was the only one working as a carhop that I seen. He was actually the only one working that I could even see thru the window. There were other people in there but not a lot of working going on. They were busy and everyone else was walking outside going to the store next door hanging out at the back of the building doing who knows what with their friends that showed up on bikes. The kid that ran to the store then went back in to the kitchen. He had long hair with no hairnet on and his hair pushed down to his face with his hat. Not to be rude but as a restaurant manager myself I would never allow someone like that to be in our kitchen. Especially after coming in from outside not washing his hands or putting on gloves and just started making food. Jimmy needs a raise or something. I tipped the kid $40 just because he was the only one even trying to get the food out that was being made. Every time I go there he seems to be the only one working. They had random guys on bikes running in and out of the store. I'm pretty sure if the health department showed up and seen half of what I seen going on at this place it would not fly with them. They need help. Not 1 manager that looks like a teen trying to run this store by himself. Maybe bump jimmy up to management. He seems to at least try to get things right as everyone else messes them up. He is the only reason I gave a 5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was great! They gave me not only my order but the also the people who were behind me in the drive through line. I gave it to a homeless person who was begging for change at the stoplight up the street. He told me thank you and then I drove up the street and parked incognito and spied the homeless individual I gave the extra food to with a set of powerful binoculars. After a had driven away the homeless gentleman looked to and fro then proceeded to stroll with the food to a nearby parking lot walked right up to a Cadillac Escalade that couldn't have been over three years old opened the driverside door hopped in the driver's seat and proceeded to consume the smashed grilled cheese I had just given him. It made me feel good that I had kept a rich man from starving to death. I knew if I had given him cash he would have just put it towards the payment on his luxury SUV and I just wouldn't feel right contributing to that kind...
