Food was OK, but not worth $30+ for entrees. Chowders are good, but again, it's hard to justify $5 for a 6oz cup of clam chowder, or $8+ for a cup of lobster bisque. With everything a la carte, expect to pay $60 a head for dinner and dessert. The noise level was brutal tonight, with a table of very drunk, loud, rude people so loud that they drowned out normal conversation at the other indoor tables. We mentioned the noise to our waitress, she rolled her eyes and said, "I know!", but it continued all though our meal. My daughter didn't opt for one of the main dishes, and ordered a modest meal of soup and nachos, and the nachos were disappointing - she had to dig to find the refried beans, and the black olives that we're also supposed to be on them were non-existent. All in all, it's an ambitious menu that sort of hits the mark in a few spots, but in the end the experience was disappointing while we paid for a high end meal. Next time we're at LBI and want seafood we'll skip this and get take out from...
Read moreMy wife and I have been coming here for the last four years, ordering the same dinner entrees every time (because our first visit the food was THAT good). Four years ago, I would have given Blue Water five stars easily; the crab cakes were pure meat and no filler. The lobster mashed potatoes must have had an entire tail or more in them, it was unbelievable. Sadly since that first visit, the quality of food has gone slowly downhill. Last year my crab cakes were undercooked and sent back to the oven, the lobster in the mash was hard to find.. This year the crab cakes were undercooked again, and try as I might I was unable to find a single piece of lobster in the potatoes. With so few high quality, reasonably priced restaurants on the island we very much wanted Blue Water to be our "go-to" for a great dinner out year after year. I'm not sure what has changed since that first visit, but I really hope they can make some needed improvements in...
Read moreOur last day on vacation is reserved with a nice dinner with the family. We were on our way to another restaurant when we saw Blue water cafe. They mentioned BYOB and kids menu so we stopped in to ask the wait time (for a Sunday) which was 30 min for our family of 4 so we agreed to wait. It felt less than 30 min as the hostess showed us to our seats. Anthony our waiter reviewed the specials and we made our choices. The wife and I chose to split the zucchini mashed potato special with a salad which was more than enough for us. Their kids menu had ours vying for the penne noodles with sauce. Everything from the consistency and flavor was so good! After dinner we decided for dessert which I opted for the cheesecake cone as my kids went for the chocolate cake, again an A+. We are definitely making Blue water Cafe our go to whenever we return to the island. Thank you to everyone for making our...
