There isn’t much I can say about Skipper Dipper that hasn’t already been said. It’s amazing. But, after a recent visit, I wanted to highlight their dedication to quality customer service.
I have a tree nut allergy (I have an anaphylactic reaction whenever I eat walnuts, pecans, cashews, etc) and have never had a problem there. I just ask them to wash the ice cream scoop, they do so, and it’s all fine and dandy. But, this time, I noticed they got a fresh container of ice cream out and used that to make my cone. I felt very safe :)
And, as if that wasn’t good enough, my ice cream was on the house because no one took my order while I was in line. Which, side note, was no problem at all. I went by myself at a busy time of day and I can see how I got lost among the sea of families and group orders. My order was still taken and made in a timely fashion. It was no problem for me and didn’t think the free ice cream was warranted, but it definitely shows Skipper Dipper’s dedication to their customers.
TLDR: it’s a beloved establishment with phenomenal ice cream and customer service (especially if you have allergies or dietary...
Read moreVery good ice cream with bold flavors. We did not try their soft serve. A lot of selections of toppings. The kiddie portion is big. Not really cheap, but prices are comparable to these types of ice cream shops in NJ... As others already mention, the lines usually are long. Nevertheless, once in the building, employees walk up the line, take and deliver the orders of those who already know exactly what they want (the flavors etc are described everywhere in the shop, and portion sizes are clearly displayed on top of the counter, so there is no real need to get to the counter to place an order). One then is asked to skip to the register to pay. Indecisive customers or folks plagued by an incurable urge to constantly stare at their cp screen (and fail to move up in line, too) will spend a far longer time in there. We were out there in about 10 minutes total at about 9:30 pm on a Sat night. The line ended at the bottom of...
Read moreThe ice cream flavors are just OK... I ordered Deertracks (coffee ice cream with chocolate covered toffee pieces and fudge swirl) and it was all right. It could have been chunkier with more toffee bits. The other flavors also seemed average. Nothing special about this place. Honestly, at the prices that Skipper Dipper charges, go to Ben and Jerry's to get better ice cream. I wouldn't come back to Skipper Dipper. Skipper Dipper gets a high rating not for their flavor selection but for how they are operating under the circumstances brought on by current pandemic. They are VERY safe and cautious, which I really appreciate. The are not offering single servings of ice cream. Customers have to order pre-packaged pints or ice cream cakes online and then call to confirm your order. You have to wait in your car for a staff member to bring your order to a table outside of your vehicle. No contact. It all felt very...
