I haven't had any of the upset stomach issues others have complained about and I eat there once or twice every day of the week. It is a cafeteria and preparing large quantities of food is difficult and while there are some things like rice that I never get, and some things are hit or miss (pizza and chicken), there's usually at least one option that's good. Overall quality has improved over the last few years too and it's not uncommon to see more gourmet options like Kalamata olives and sun-dried tomatoes to top pasta or salad. Desserts have also been really good this semester as has the artisan bread they've started offering.
So yes, I could eat better and cheaper if I was off campus and made my own meals but for a cafeteria at a school this size, it's pretty good, not to mention the time saved from not cooking! My only complaint would be the silverware bins are consistently greasy and have crumbs in the bottom. Not sure how those get there but I think they should start washing silverware and their bins more...
Read moreThe only reason that this place receives a one star is because of the two employees who always make me smile. However, the smile is quickly robbed from my face when I am met with raw or burnt foods and the rest of the staff being full of angst. Many times the staff that I encounter are rude and make snarky comments if they say anything at all. I have never seen an establishment that hires such people. Secondly, I will touch on the food, I have attached a photo of a piece of chicken I received. It is common place here at saga to receive under cooked chicken and under cooked pork. On the other hand, the FROZEN burgers are burnt to a puck and the rice is always crunchy. How can anyone sit there and pay any amount for frozen food. This place is despicable so much in fact that when I have guest come to visit me they only eat here once then they want to go...
Read moreThis fine dining establishment is full of cynical employees and ghastly food. The meals are better suited for sports equipment. Chicken can frequently be used to play hockey and there are often hair donations in ones food. Their best entree is the cereal when milk is available and don’t count on solid eggs to fill your breakfast crave. Open times are few and during holidays they are even less despite being the only venue to eat at on campus. It is beyond me how a company runs a buffet without trays but this company has managed to do so with complete finesse. Meals are simple... so simple in fact, one would call it minimalist. Despite its shortcomings there are roughly two employees that put on a daily smile and welcome me when entering in to breakfast. These two people are the only things giving the restaurant it’s...
