It's an unlikely spot to expect to see a Thai restaurant - but there it is ! It has the typical "Thai Food" signage outside, but on the side of the building is also the description in Spanish: " comida de Thailandia". The people of the neighborhood frequent this little "island of Asia" for good Thai meals.
Indeed, their Thai food dishes have wonderfully unique & savory properties. With my first taste of each Thai dish, my tastebuds perked-up with a big ? question mark ? and told me, "This is different ! What's wrong?" But with each subsequent bite , those same taste buds spoke to me to tell me that what I'm tasting are uniquely-nuanced and deliciously subtile flavors that I've not noticed at other Thai food establishments -- just say, flavors within the food that really please the palate! Particularly pleasing were the 2 dishes I tried on my first visit, while "sampling the restaurant": I tried Tom Ka Kai (chicken-coconut milk soup) and their own delicious version of the staple dish Pad Thai. Both were unexpectedly different, but excuisitely delicious! I asked the waiter on that first visit, what brought such a differently unique flavor to each of the dishes. He explained that each of the menue items we had tried were made with special fresh spice leaves & other ingredients added which are unique to food items prepared in that part of Asia, and particularly used in the authentic food dishes of Thailand. They made the extra effort to obtain all of those for their recipes. I enjoyed the lesson in their culinary art form, but I enjoyed the food even more.
Note: I can only speak this praise for the cultural, authentic Thai food dishes that I tried there. The name of a particular dish usually seen on a typical Chinese food menu, I found to lack any particular flavor; in fact, I found it to be quite "blah" for taste. Since the 1940's this particular location has been serving fried chicken. They have the chicken cooking process down to perfection - an ever-so lightly coating of non-greasy "crisp" around the outside, while the inside is done to perfection and moist. However, I found it to lack any body of flavor to the meat. Their recipe, while perfect in every other way, could greatly be improved by marinating the chicken pieces before beginning the cooking process, or by adding some special spice combination to their otherwise perfectly thin coating. "Room for improvement" for what could be great chicken.
Perhaps I've been spoiled by the great tasting Thai dishes there. Personally, I will prefer leaning to choose only their savory Thai food taste treats. THAT they do well. And THERE they certainly have a winner. Very reasonably priced for...

Read moreWhen I'm at work, I order their food from Postmates.
Well, today I decided that I will check out their place.
I went to it and it's a small run down restuarant. It definitely needs some remodeling.
I went inside and they have few pictures on their wall about the restuarant's past. From what I have seen, it seems that it was once a very popular fried chicken place. It appears it's now own and operated by someone else now and turn it into a Thai food restaurant but still selling their popular fried chicken.
Now the place is well known for their Thai food.
I always order chow mein and vegetarian egg rolls. It taste really good. The portions is big and if you make it to go, they put the food on top of the foil to keep it warm.
I definitely recommend checking out their place or order food from Postmates or UberEats. You won't be...
