Elva's — Restaurant in Los Fresnos

Really disappointed. Always has been great. But good service only goes as far as you give it. Ordered a barbacoa taco with cilantro, onions and queso fresco. I only have 30 minutes for lunch. Pick up taco, bring it to office to eat and it's barbacoa a la mexicana with no cheese. I call to let them know they messed up my order. And I had to take taco back to get a new taco the way I ordered it, Like to prove I wasnt lying. That was bad. Then I get there and just an apology. No discount on next visit. No free coke. Nothing. I had to go back and waste gas and time for their mistake. Great food. But if you don't care about your customers in every way, then what does that say about your restaurant? Very...

Haven't eaten at Elva's in 8yrs but the food is still Bomb! ❤️ Just as delicious as I remember. It's still pretty small inside and we had to wait a few mins to be seated as it was packed, bcuz that's where the great food is! We had the pork chops, eggs, papas n beans and the enchilada plate with 2 eggs on top. We were served within about 10 mins, it was very hot (temp wise) which i love. Oh My Goodness, it was sooo good. Anytime, anywhere I'm in the RGV we go to Elva's for brkfst/brunch. Inside is not overly loud, you can still hold a conversation. It's also clean. We've lived in Los Fresnos for 8 yrs and we decided to finally try their flour tortilla tacos.One was of fajita and the other one was machacado with egg.We enjoyed the meal but about 10 minutes later my wife's stomach started growling and before I knew she ran to restroom because she got diarrhea.I was in shocked and happy that it didn't happen to me.Well let me tell you people 20 minutes later I run to the other bathroom and I got diarrhea too.We were both shocked so guess what we are never going back again.
