Great food!! This was my first visit at this restaurant. The 2nd waitress assigned to serve my table had no problem bringing me a hot sweet tea, a hot bowl of gumbo and she and other wait staff were excellent in their service with my extended order of numerous other items I wanted to bring home to feed my two adult sons, whom of which I called home to tell them how great the quality of the food was that I experiencing. One of my son's is disabled and has various health conditions and food allergies, and the 2nd waitress and other staff members executed getting all the special requests of my family's orders exactly as needed. HATS OFF TO MY 2ND WAITRESS AND OTHERS THAT HELPED HER, AS WELL AS, TO THE COOKS, KITCHEN STAFF AND TO THE OWNER'S AT CHARLIE'S RESTAURANT!!! Once home, my family truly did enjoy their food and we all had plenty more of it to save for lunch tomorrow. YUM, YUM!!! I tipped the 2nd waitress a well-deserved $22.00 tip for our family's almost $90.00 order. SHE EARNED A DESERVING TIP!😃😃😃😃😃😃

  • UPDATE: * I called the restaurant today and spoke to their manager about my first-time experience dining there yesterday and I'm so glad I did make that call. Their manager was absolutely 100% professional and he actually does care about the PATRONS that dine there. I'm thankful for all the GREAT FOOD, and to all the staff and everyone that works there. I am looking forward to dining there again....

Opinions are divided on this one. Charlie's is a popular, local, hole-in-the-wall restaurant with crooked tables and the prerequisite basket of crackers and margarine on every table. Our server was friendly as all get out, and she did a great job taking care of us. We ordered their new appetizer, the Spicy Cajun Eggrolls (not pictured), and they were amazing. The salads that came with our food were stingy on lettuce, they had maybe 1 cup of lettuce on each plate, but the housemade ranch dressing was tasty. I ordered the small catfish and oyster dinner, and my fiancé ordered the 10 oz ribeye dinner. Both meals came with fries and grilled bread, both of which were good. My seafood was utterly fabulous. It was fresh, perfectly cooked, and lightly but well seasoned. The ribeye was not so good. It had been seasoned but was full of gristle and proved next to impossible to saw through with the steak knife. It was probably a really cheap cut of meat. Overall, this was a...

First time back to Charlie's in quite some time. Had the alligator bites (blackened) and I tried something out of my norm - the chicken florentine. The gator bites were tasty and paired well with the sauce that was included. No complaints here. The chicken florentine was perfectly average (in a good way), and the loaded baked potato is again - as you should expect. The side of veggies I would not choose again. I don't remember if the menu said steamed or grilled - but either way, overly soft and little to no flavor. The other guys at my table enjoyed their meals (the steak bites and a seafood potato). Service was good, but felt really inconsistent as it seemed everyone on staff was going to visit the table at some point. Not bad and with good intent I'm sure - but service would probably be even better with minimal change in who is stopping by. I'll come back at some point and check out some more menu items.

Embarrassingly disappointing. I ordered a seafood platter and fried pickles for takeout with a very pleasant young lady over the phone. Then I paid $36 plus tip and got these two boxes of fried disappointment, hastily thrown together without any condiments, napkins, or apologies. The food all had bland, boring flavor, and the fish was puny and overcooked. I'm sure it would have tasted better if it came with some condiments because who on this planet eats two boxes of fried foods without desiring something for dipping? I dont think it's too much to expect - especially for the price - a little bit of ketchup, ranch, hot sauce, cocktail sauce, or SOMETHING to dip it in. After the first piece of fish I would have settled for soy sauce!
