China Star — Restaurant in Louisiana

We were passing thru and this place was fairly nice. It's open late, the restaurant was spacious, clean, and inviting, the cashier was a handsome little child who was friendly and knowledgeable, rung my order up correctly. You can also order online which is a plus and my food was hot and ready when I arrived. We just wasn't a fan of the food, which didn't seem authentic, rather very processed. We ordered the sweet & sour chicken and the mandarin chicken meals. The rice was yellow and a bit hard to describe. Being in Louisiana, you know your seafood...And well, not one of us could identify one strand of the strange, large clumps of artificial seafood meat that came in our Seafood Soup. And both of our chicken meals came fully processed like a a giant Mcdonald's chicken nugget with sauce on the side. I guess I've been spoiled by Yees in Slidell who serves real chicken pieces and real crab meat. I hope China Star upgrades their food quality to Real Food rather than what we received, as the place has Real Potential for success in a growing town like Lacombe. Until then, we'll only be...

Food is pretty good, still very oily and high in salt.

I’m upset with this business because they waited 6 days to take the money for an order out of my account. I plan my purchases and watch my account closely to see when I am near zero before a paycheck. Because this business waited so long to withdraw I had altogether forgotten about the balance with them by the time they took it out, and it caused my account to go to a negative balance. That cost me $27. I’m very upset that there was such a delay in the withdrawal of this balance from my account.

I will not be dining here anymore if there will be such volatile and unpredictable withdrawal dates...

I came in around 11:30am and ordered the bourbon chicken plate (comes with fried rice and cheese wontons). The food was prepared fresh and the serving was huge! A big plate piled with delicious chicken and veggies, a mound of delicious fried rice, and two of the best cheese wontons I've had. The adult employee was very friendly and her children were helping out. One of them even rang me up at the register (adorable). I was so satisfied and impressed that I left a big tip.
