Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Louisiana

Decided to have some ice cream on a hot day. Staff wasn't real friendly, and just kept staring at you without saying much. Was a little hard to understand at times as well.

When my item was ready, the one staff member asked "for here or go" and I said I was eating it there. Went to hand me the item over the counter and as I went to grab it, he pulled it back to him & asked something that I couldn't understand. I finally got my item and friend got hers shortly after.

We sat down to eat & as others mentioned, there were quite a few flies. Facility didn't appear too awful dirty though. I started to eat my treat & had an awful gritty taste. I thought it was the ice cream until I realized it was the whipped cream on top. Not sure what brand the whippes cream was, but man it was nasty. Once I got it scraped off, the treat was much better.

Friend had a blizzard, and said they didn't hand it to her upside down like they're supposed to. Seemed most of her toppings/flavor was on the very top of the cup and not much below it. So either they didn't mix it well or didn't give much of the topping. So over half was thrown away.

While we were eating, the employees were talking loud and screaming/hollering quite a bit, in their language. So that was a little annoying to hear that while trying to enjoy a treat.

Was stopping by to get food while on a five hour car trip. Food was alright it was fresh, like it just came out of the fryer. They advertised the Superman ice cream but didn't have the meal even though it showed they had it on the app. As for the atmosphere.. there were a LOT of flies all over the building. There were at least 50 out in the lobby area. Im not sure how many would have been back where the food was made, but I'm assuming there's plenty of flies back there as well. My grandma went in to use the bathroom, and I was personally told not to go in there because of how bad the flies were in there. I refused to go in the restroom after hearing that. This is by far the dirtiest, nastiest, restaurant that I have ever seen. There were fly strips hanging in the ice cream making area. The bathroom was disgusting and had bloody toilet paper laid on top of the trash can. There were SO MANY flies flying around inside the building that when my SO bit a chunk of something in his sudae he wondered if it was a strawberry or a fly. The worker dropped a package of cup lids in the parking lot and threw them back on the cart with the rest of the items he was bringing in. There is a quarter inch of dead gnats on the window sill of the front windows. We will never, ever come back to...
