This was an interesting stop, but a good one. We came through not long after the last Hurricane's had hit and nearly missed the place because the Hurricane took out their sign. Happy we were able to find it and stop though, ended up being a really solid lunch.
Chas got the "Crawfish Monica Pasta" and I got the "Hamburger Steak Po-Boy". This sandwich was not like any other Po-Boy I had ever had. The burger had a TON of onion flavor (which I love) and was almost shaped into a meatloaf style brick. The roll for the Po-Boy was crusty in all the right spots and soft as well. This was topped with a really delicious hot gravy, but then also came with Mayo, lettuce, tomato, and grilled onion. Truly a blend of hot and cold ingredients on the sandwich, but it all worked so well. If you're worried about getting messy, do NOT order this sandwich. It was a slop show, but it was fanastic.
I tried the Crawfish Monica also and that was also very good. Very similar to a cream or béchamel with tons of chunks of crawfish tail. The flavor was good and the portion size was solid.
Did I mention they make their own root beer and even have a diet option? I try desperately not to drink my calories so I got the diet and it was really good.
We will definitely go back here again! Frostop Drive in -...
Read moreI was craving a good old fashioned frost top root beer so I pulled in . I also ordered a crabmeat sandwich . While I’m waiting I see a king cake shake ad . So I got a small one . It looked so yummy I couldn’t resist . Well the shake came quickly so I drank it in about one minute because it was so amazing delicious. I couldn’t lift my lips from the straw . I drank it continuous like I was drinking from a bottle . It was gone . And I was wishing I had just ordered a large king cake shake with added whip cream instead of everything else . I was addicted within a second . So I can’t fairly judge everything else compared to that shake . But I will say , I did enjoy everything I ordered and it was nice to have that root beer after so long . ( I’ll be going back for that large king cake shake with whip cream and Mardi Gras sprinkles ! It’s only around for Mardi Gras thank...
Read moreStopped by near closing time and ordered some of their delicious one of a kind root beer, and it was great! You have to try it! I was greeted by a friendly lady who quickly took my order. I paid and moved to the next window as the equally friendly gentleman was filling my order. You can order the root beer by the 1/2 gallon! I had to have 2. He placed them in a Styrofoam carrier to keep them cold and slid them through the window. They even have an antique scale sitting by the pickup window. Going back for a Lotaburger and extra crispy onion rings! Thank you...
