Hut Wok — Restaurant in Louisiana

The worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I am a server so I really don't complain to much when we go out for food cause I understand! I just want my food to be right because I know I'm going to explain myself and what I want very well. So my husband wanted shrimp and broccoli and I wanted crab ragoon and shrimp fried rice, so I asked her if the shrimp and broccoli combo (that came with rice and a ragoon) on the menu was the same as the picture on the wall. She told me "yes yes it the same same thing" with an attitude that she had when we walked in the door. So I ordered the first combo (that she told me was the same) with shrimp fried rice and a extra order of crab ragoon. Well we were the only people in there so our food was fast but when we got it it didn't look right so he took a bite and it was chicken so I asked her what was going on and she started yelling at me saying that, thats what I ordered and it was but it was not what she explained to me I never once said I wanted chicken. I wanted shrimp! So i open my crab ragoon (all while she is still yelling at me) and they are empty! So I'm like you know what just give me my money back cause your being rude like your not going sit here and yell at me and she tells me no that it's my fault and I'm a liar. I told her no thats not how you treat peoole. And we went back and forth cause she said we ate the food and we did not eat any of it at all. So finally she goes to give my money back and throws it at my FACE change and all! Then I went off and started asking to speak with a manager and she claimed she was the owner! My husband told her to stop yelling at me and she threw fortune cookies at him. She was just crazy rude so I told her I was not leaving until I talked to her boss well she claimed she was the boss witch I know was a lie and then called the cops on me! So she was rude to me, told me to order the wrong food, yelled at me, cursed at me, threw change at my face, and threw food at my husband then called the cops on me! I will definitely never be going back and I hope someone sees this and dose something about it because that is not how you...

So with the wife at a company dinner I took this opportunity to get my Chinese food fix. Quick search for "Best Chinese food near me" and Hot Wok was top of the list. Pretty standard order of Sesame chicken, fried dumpling and combination fried rice and I was on my way. the dumplings were the first disappointment. While I admit the taste was as I expected they were shriveled and looked as though they were left over from the previous day. Still, not too bad. I then tried the sesame chicken and fried rice. As another person mentioned there were 2 shrimp in my rice, not a deal breaker. But the chicken was just reheated fried chicken with the sesame sauce just poured over part of the top and a small portion of sesame seeds. most of the chicken was dry, none had any flavor. The rice was equally bland.

I am sorry that I wasted my Chinese splurge day on Hot Wok and will not be trying this again. I only hope my review either sparks something with the owner to put more effort into tasty food, or saves the next poor soul from a lackluster...

I really like this place. All of their chicken dishes are so good. Really just about everything is very good, but the spicier chicken based stuff is my favorite. And I love that they always have fresh vegetables with a little bit of crunch, not overcooked and not raw (hate raw). Some of the workers are funny, they have that classic sort of standoffish attitude I remember seeing in big Chinatown type places like in London, but once you get to know them they are really cool. --- UPDATE in 2023: This place is still rocking, which says something. Everything still very fresh in all the chicken, soup, and noodle dishes we get. I am not sure if there is a better quick stop Chinese place around...
