I’ve only dined in person once and my experience was fairly nice. However, my issue is the lunch session. It’s to my understanding that the lunch time is 11am -3pm Monday through Friday.
Well 2 weeks ago I made a phone order for the fried stuffed catfish and pasta dish and it was absolutely delicious a young man took my order over the phone and I don’t work far so I stopped and picked it up within 30 minutes when I arrive to the restaurant there was a nice elderly lady that met me and greeted me and I informed her that I was picking up my phone order and I said a young man took the order and she said yes Nathan she said he’s named after his father or grandfather I can’t recall and we exchanged pleasantries and I picked up my order and I left.
well today I call about 2:45 to order the same item that I ordered two weeks ago a lady answer the phone and she was somewhat rude I informed her that I was calling to place a pick up order to go and I was trying to make sure I ordered before the lunch time was over she stated to me that I couldn’t make a phone order I had to come in and order the food I said well that’s not what I I did two weeks ago and she said well that’s the rules now. so my concern is there should be some consistency how is it that I was able to order over the phone two weeks ago and now today that’s not the case I was very disheartened by that and on top of that I was spoken to...
Read moreAs far as the patrons who rated this eatery with 1-3 stars, it sounds like their rating was based off of an opinion of an employee or the pricing. Anybody can deep fry food, that’s why it’s cheap. But there are VERY few Grillmasters out there. The Chefs at Nathan are experienced and the portions are priced accordingly
Today was my wife and my first time eating at Nathan’s Restaurant. With our daughter at home sick, we ordered for carryout, but nothing about the experience was disappointing. The place has such a great feel to it. The view was great, right on the bayou, but it couldn’t hold a candle to the perfectly seared blackened filet mignon that we ordered mid-rare. We ordered Nathan’s Mixed Grille. We savored each bite of steak, perfectly paired with 4 fresh spears of grilled asparagus, 3 large scallops and an ample portion of tail-on grilled shrimp. The meal comes with choice of side so we ordered the twice baked potato which was also amazing. Much thanks to Nathan, the head chef, for one of the best, if not THE BEST meal I have ever eaten! The next time we dine at Nathan’s we want to try the filet and lobster tail, and it’s priced only $1 more than Nathan’s Mixed Grille. The portions are large enough my wife and I shared the meal and still had leftovers.
Much thanks to Nathan and the Servers for a wonderful meal!!

Read moreI eat here often - mostly for lunch. The lunch experience is consistently good and inexpensive; however, the dinner experience was excellent all the way around.
For starters, we ordered spinach and artichoke dip. The dip was good and tasted exactly how it should taste. It was served with fried puffed chips, which added a different element than regular corn chips. I enjoyed the combination.
We also ordered a small salad and chicken/sausage gumbo. All were good.
For entrees, we ordered a ribeye, trout, and lasagna. The steak was cooked to order and had good flavor. The lasagna was a huge portion and was also enjoyed.
The star, however, was the trout. The trout was served with a meuniere sauce and was topped with a good portion of fresh crab. The fish and crab were very fresh. In fact, every time I’ve ordered fish at Nathan’s, it’s been very fresh. We ordered 2 pieces of trout. Each piece was cooked perfectly and had consistent flavor. I can’t say enough how impressive this dish was!
Finally for dessert we split a praline bread pudding, which was served warm and was a delicious way to wrap up our experience.
Our waitress was excellent - she was extremely attentive, made recommendations, and helped accommodate a few requests from the kitchen.
Overall, our dinner experience...
