I have been dining at Yee's restaurant for more than 20 years. I have always enjoyed the food and the egg drop soup there was my favorite until last night on 08/12/2017. The only way I can describe what was in my egg drop soup is to say it looked like baby oysters in my soup or bad eggs. The pieces were greenish/grey color and the pieces were firm. I brought the soup back and ask the waitress/hostess or just down right rude person. What is this in my soup. She said soy that it changes the color of the egg and the other girl said it was something that came off the wok when they cooked the egg and the girls tell me that they are supposed to pick that stuff out before serving the soup. Can you say gross. The so call professional waitress/hostess tells me she can replace the soup. I explained that I don't want another soup so she asked what do you want in replace of the soup. I said maybe some pork fried rice with attitude she says um No that it's more in price then the soup. I was like really she said here is your money back on the soup. If this was my restaurant I would eat the 3.00 dollar difference in price to make my customer feel appreciated so they would Keep coming back. Really I don't think 3.00 dollars would break their bank account. From what I understand Mr Yee is no longer running the Restaurant that his wife and son's are. Well since they have been the food has gone down hill in the last couple of years. Their once upon a time awesome fried rice now taste like frozen fried rice from the grocery store. Like they have cut corners on some of their ingredients to save a few bucks. Well I have never until this point been served food that looked that bad or had an rude, hype up on something attitude from hell waitress/hostess. If I could upload a picture of the greenish/grey stuff that was in my soup I would. From this point forward I will never spend another dime at Yee's that i would go spend my money on Chinese food from the mall. Good luck to the ones that still dine there. May your stomachs be made of cast iron and your shoulders are strong to handle that rude, unprofessional, unapologetic, insulting waitress/hostess that they have working there representing...
Read moreOne of my worst experiences in a restaurant in my lifetime of 60 years! I am a Disabled American Veteran 100%, I started out in tthe restaurant business as asst.manager for a large chain of restaurants. Also I've worked for family owned restaurants for many years only to get a BBA in Business at age 51 with minors in management and marketing. Mi took my friend, to this so called restaurant. We ordered to meals, and two beverages. We couldn't get shrimp fried rice, with our dinner plate. We were told "no shrimp fried rice; only Friday. We were told that we couldn't get any shrimp fried rice except Friday That we had to have chicken, and ham fried rice. So we ordered an extra order of shrimp fried rice, because that's what we really wanted; with our two mixed vegetable dishes. We both reported that the vegetables were scorched to the 40 year long owner, which then she started belittling us in front of at least a dozen customers by saying: "oh so I not give you shrimp fried rice with your meal so you say it's no good! We proceeded to tell her that we ordered a LG order of the shrimp fried rice along with our two plates that we didn't want her to give us nothing. We asked her to taste the vegetables and she proceeded to snatch/grabb the plates from in front of us and said you not come here anymore." We proceeded to tell her, that they didn't have to worry about that; and that we would never come back. She continued yelling at the top of her lungs, "you leave now you not come back" so we proceed to leave. This woman doesn't know how to interact with customers on any sort of a professional, or son a owners level. In my professional opinion, I believe after 40 years of owning; and working at this restaurant she needs be be at home and not subjecting people to this disgrace and...
Read moreJust got home from returning take out food to this restaurant. Possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Good online reviews led me to take a chance with a new place in order to feed friends at home. Boy what a mistake. Each dish was thoroughly tasteless, and all the meats were tough ( Ribs, Mandarin Chicken, Pork and Beef ) They insisted I bring back the uneaten food before they would refund my money, but then acted so rudely and with such bad grace that I felt prompted to share my experience,
When the owner became confused with the refund procedure and nearly charged me twice, and then announced loudly that she had my name and phone number and would make sure that I never came back I pointed out that I was hardly likely to return anyway after such poor service.
She became even more angry and had trouble making herself clear. I pointed out that maybe part of the problem was her difficulty speaking clear English
She became even more agitated and loudly accused me of racism. I was amazed but calmly pointed out that her inability to speak good English had nothing to do with race and that it was profoundly insulting that she should declare this to the whole restaurant, and that her confusion over what I meant only proved my point.
Beware of this establishment. If you dare to complain about the food be prepared to be shouted at...
