I'm going to go step by step of our experience as it was the worst service I have every received. First we drove 30 minutes to check this diner out..I should of heeded the warnings of their reviews on Facebook. We sit down. There was a big party completely finished with their lunch and then another party of 2 who were finished as well. Both parties were regulars and received great service. My husband and I, being first timers did not. 3 servers made eye contact with me multiple times but did not acknowledge us. 10 minutes passed until the server walked behind our table to talk to the busser and at that point she couldn't ignore us any longer as I was staring at her. She came by and asked if anyone had helped us, very unmotivated might I add. No introduction, no information about daily specials. I actually got up twice and looked at the board to see if I missed it. We ordered drinks and I asked about the specials. Response "it's on the board, I think it's salmon patties". I explained no only pies. She verified it with another server who looked at the board and tried to play it off that it was up there but I could tell by her frustration that it wasn't. The original server said "it's $8.99?" The other server said "no it's $11.99" OG server said " nothing is that expensive and walked over to the board, I'm sure only to realize it wasn't on the board. Price gouging because we were first timers, probably. OG waitress disappeared to never be seen again. 15 minutes go by and the 2nd waitress comes by after ignoring is forever and asked if we ordered. No, again no introduction but just stood there until we spoke. We ordered the fried pickles (1/2 star) as they were delicious, the burger and open faced Manhattan sandwich. The gravy was far from homemade, as the mash potatoes. My husband said the burger was really really "ok". The second server brought out all the food together again 20 minutes later and apologized about the appetizer not coming out first and didn't understand why the cook made it all at once. Then poof, no check in on how the food was, if we needed refills, anything. They all socialized with the regulars and with each other but acted as if we didn't exist. After another 30 minutes and my Hungarian fuse was running short, a 3rd waitress who just finished cleaning the table of the big party came to us and asked if we needed anything. The check, the GD check for the love of God. The food came out to $25( 1/2 star). I did leave $5 tip even though no one really deserved anything but the 2nd server( dark brown hair below shoulder) I could tell was upset that the OG server (blonde hair, pulled back into a bun super tight, thick) just skipped out. We arrived at 1pm on a Sunday and apparently that was when the "lunch rush"( I say this while laughing) was over and apparently they didn't want to work anymore. Had they provided better service I would have left a hefty tip because I used to be a server. But their attitudes sucked, they are rude to newcomers and their food was mediocre at best. A freshman college student could cook better. If you want to try out a diner, avoid at all costs and drive a little further to Christi's Cafe on Dixie. Great service, prices and actually homemade foods. I've never seen such sh*tty attitudes in my life by servers. What a joke of a place!!! I'm livid just thinking about it. And for the love of God, remove all the signs saying "you come here to make friends". Such unfriendly service, why would I want to come back. I'm waiting to see this place pop up on "...
Read moreThis is probably the WORST meal I've had in a VERY long time. If I could, I would have given ZERO (0) STARS.
Please read to the end of this review even though it is long. It is EXTREMELY RELEVANT.
We ordered two (2) Liver & Onion dinners. This was to replace the two (2) Liver & Onion dinners we ordered previously. The FIRST order was over overcooked and very poor quality. This time, when we ordered, we asked that the Liver be LIGHTLY COOKED. Instead, we received two (2) dinners that were NOT just overcooked, but they were nearly burnt. Upon trying to eat my dinner, the LIVER was so overcooked that it left SORES in my mouth from trying to chew it!!!
We were supposed to get rolls with our meal, but instead received CORNBREAD PANCAKES. This was horrible as neither of us eat cornbread. Also, we were supposed to get Ranch dressing for our salads but instead, we received what appears to be Honey Mustard. We don't eat Honey Mustard. Because of this, we weren't able to eat our salads. Plus, there were ONLY two (2) half ripe cherry tomatoes 🍅 in the salad.
It seams that the ONLY thing we were able to eat was the Mashed Potatoes. One of which was supposed to have the gravy on the side. We didn't get ANY gravy for that order.
Out of the ENTIRE two (2) meals, we were able to eat only one (1) of the Mashed Potatoes and Gravy.
This is really sad considering this was not a cheap meal the FIRST time around. This, the SECOND (2nd) time around (although a FREE Replacement) was basically WORTHLESS since one (1) order of Mashed Potatoes and Gravy was all that was edible!!!
We will NEVER be returning here and DO NOT recommend anyone else eat here either. They can't get something as simple as Dinner Rolls correct, they will NEVER get anything else right.
I wanted to attach photos, but there doesn't seem to be a manner in which to do that here.
If you attempt to eat at Lindsay's, don't expect much. In fact, DONT EXPECT ANYTHING...
Read moreIt had been several years since my last visit, it wasn't a good experience. Me, my wife, brother and his wife thought we would give it a try. Love the omelet, potatoes were hard, bacon was over crispy, and hash browns were mushy in the middle. The biggest problem was the cook. As I was waiting to pay, I saw him, the one with black hair and beard, put his hand in a container grab a handful 3 times in put it in his mouth. His hand actually touched his mouth. He then took the same hand and reached back in the container and added it to something he was cooking on the grill. That is absolutely disgusting. I told the waitress and she said she would talk to him, never said anything about talking to Lindsey. We also sat at the round table up front, the crack of the table where it folds was full of all kinds of nasty. Will not be going back, this was the last chance. I try to support local businesses but they have to take pride in what they do.
I thought i would give you the benefit of a doubt because I like to support local businesses. I have not been coming there for 5 years. It was 5 years ago was the last time I was there. Its obvious you can't take criticism to help improve your service. But when I observe your cook doing something disgusting I think you need to know especially with the virus. If you can't get it right after 5 years I will not be...
