Market Cafe — Restaurant in Louisville

THE J BIRD CHICKEN SAMMICH.... It was dreary wednesday around 11:30AM I was hungry and looking for the perfect sammich to give me nourishment to continue on with my day. On a whim I called Market Cafe and ordered a Jbird Chicken Sammich. Upon arrival I could smell the perfectly crusted chicken breast waiting in my togo box. beckoning to be consumed by me. I pay the lady and take my sammich back to my office. I open the box and there she lay.... THE PERFECT CHICKEN SAMMICH... Fresh buns still toasty from the stove top. Fresh homemade pickles lay delicately on my bed of fresh lettuce. then I see her, the chicken breast. Golden brown in hue, breading holding the breast as if it were newborn holding on for dear life. I lift the sammich and take a bite. Im immediately filled with joy and happiness. the sauce on the side adds to the flavor already created. i taste my fries and they are cooked to perfection as well. I feel like a king again. I can now continue my day happy and full. Thank you...

I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity I had to indulge in lunch here with friends of mine. Market Cafe has a very nice ambiance, as it feels very welcoming and comfortable. It's in the heart of downtown Louisville, which certainly adds to the overall vibe and experience of dining here. What I really appreciate is that the server understood my special request with the salad I chose; it came out from the kitchen very delicious, and the portion size was large enough to become a second meal. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful — very aesthetic and definitely Instagram-worthy. Service was great too; our server was super attentive and friendly.That said, the food just didn’t live up to the look. Everything was nicely presented but lacked seasoning and flavor. It’s not bad, just kind of bland overall. The egg rolls were actually really good though — I’m not sure if they make them in-house, but they stood out.if you're going for the vibe and ambiance, it’s a solid spot. But if you're coming mainly for flavor, it might not hit the mark.but the cake...
