New hours are 11am-7pm Friday only. I had the fish sandwich, crinkle cut fries, mix of baked beans and macaroni & cheese. The portions were very good in size. Fish and fries were certainly cooked to order °°°°°/°°°° and the entire meal was served piping hot! Here's my opinion on the food. The fish is a quality product typical with what you will find at most local area church fish fries. The crinkle cut fries were a really big portion but they're just a frozen product like most fast food stores sell; the big difference here is you'll not get any cold food here. The baked beans were a mix of beans that were in a really good sweet & savory BBQ style sauce and I enjoyed them, they'd be great with some corn bread. The thing that's a miss for me was the macaroni & cheese. I'm not sure if it was left over or what happened but it just didn't taste good for me. It could have been the cheese blend wasn't for me? I know others who have liked it & recommended it so don't let me deter you too much on it. The hush puppies were really good as well as the tartar sauce. It's around $10 for a fish sandwich, 1 side & 3 hush puppies. I think drinks were $1.50 each but I'm not 💯% since I'm a little late posting this review. What I'm really looking forward to is going back for their specialty of brisket burnt ends and the pulled pork. The fine young man working there said the brisket was his favorite. They also bring your food out to your table. The atmosphere is pretty cool and definitely...
Read moreFried to perfection, moist, well seasoned and delicious. That's what was going thru my mind as I took the first bite of my fish sandwich here at Portland BBQ. And we are not talking about nuggets here. It's a big piece of white cod served with your choice of bread. They also give you a good portion of tarter sauce and ketchup. I also ordered a side of coleslaw, baked beans and decided to also try one of their smoked sausages. The coleslaw was creamy and all the flavors blended well together. The baked beans were something I had never seen before. It was baked with different kinds of beans. Regardless they were very tasty and sweet. Now, the smoked sausage, was the best I've ever had. It was smokey, not too greasy and the first bite, had that crunch that you experience when you know you're not eating an average sausage. The serve it on a hot dog bun with ketchup and mustard. The only i was missing was the Tabasco but, that's a story for next time. Highly recommend place to eat if you're on the west end or are looking for a nice, quiet and very relaxing spot to enjoy a good meal with your family. Reasonably priced for...
Read moreFirst-time customer. Was craving BBQ. I called to make sure that their ribs were pork. The gentleman on the phone said yes. I told him I will call back with an order. When I did, I asked again, are your ribs pork? He said yes. So I put a order in for rib tips, macaroni and cheese and baked beans. When I open my box, I was mad and disappointed. 1. The baked beans, that did not have a description on the menu, was a three-bean mix. 2. The ribs we're beef, overcooked and dry. Burned around the edges. The restaurant was closed by the time I had my lunch break, so I couldn't call. For them to be open only on Fridays, the food was below standard. Rest assured I will not be returning. you do get what you pay for.
