Update: it's only been a week, but I wanted to try it again. Had the Cheesin Steak this time and spouse had the Cheeseburger. Food was awesome, per usual.
Service was top notch this time. Servers asked multiple times if anything was needed. We got napkins lol.
I bumped up my review to 5 stars.
I think this is my new favorite local place. :)
The new location is a bit strange, though I guess it's a big improvement if you consider the old location. The interior is gorgeous. Eclectic, colorful, nice artwork.
Ordering is right when you walk in, which is a little abrupt if you have no idea what's on the menu. But their menu isn't real big, so it wasn't a big deal. I only realized later that adding a tip to the purchase at the beginning, might not be the best thing...
Drinks came out pretty quickly. The food came out a little later. One thing the server said was- oh I'll get you napkins. The food was awesome. Both myself and my spouse had very tasty food...but without anything to wipe our hands on, I stopped eating as things got messy fast. The server forgot about us. Not that she wasn't busy. I tried to give her time and then tried to flag her down. Our drinks got empty too. There was another server, but she seemed busy cleaning tables. Towards the end, we were able to get the server's attention and basically got drinks to go and a to-go container. So although the food was excellent, the lack of napkins/drinks made the experience a little lacking.
My recommendation- have napkins at the table in a dispenser or paper towels in a paper towel holder or make sure the server has napkins available when grabbing food to take out. I saw her deliver food and go back to get napkins for multiple tables. That walking back and forth seems wasteful in time.
And that said, we will definitely be back and I hope to bump my score up to 5 stars. I'm anxious to taste other things on the menu. Also- this place would be ideal as an anchor to some small town or somewhere with a view. I could definitely see relaxing outside in a nice location, eating their food. Here's hoping for future success and expansion...
Read moreBreakfast was very good, all except for my chewy bacon. The downside was service. We had a long wait to be seated, and a very long wait for our orders. When we finally got our food, we had to ask for cutlery. During our meal, three different servers came to our table to give us orders of home fries that we didn't order. My sister asked our server, Lila for some milk for her coffee because she doesn't like half & half. Lila brought her an 8-10 oz glass of milk. We thought that was unusual, but didn't question it, but I'll get to that later. We asked for separate checks but the orders on our checks were all mixed up with items we didn't order. Our server had to take them back and adjust them. Getting to that big glass of milk, my sister was charged $3 for it. When she complained about the charge, our server Lila, told my sister she should have refused the glass of milk when she first brought it out if she didn't want to pay for it and that it was too late to take it off of her bill. Lila's attitude was off and that's not something you tell a customer. What made her think a customer would need a full glass of milk for one cup of coffee? All you need is a splash of milk but she made no effort to find something smaller for it. That cost her a couple of tips because you don't take advantage of customers like that, nor blame them for a mistake you made. The restaurant was overcrowded to the point of our being blocked in by the party that was seated behind our table. We had to push our table out to get up and leave. Anyway, maybe you won't have the bad experiences we did. Overall the food was good. However, the servers need to be trained in professionalism, and how to speak to customers. Well,...
