Mountain Springs Restaurant - Captain's Cove — Restaurant in Lower Alsace Township

Used to love this place. We only get here 3 or 4 times a year. We just went for the first time this year and were incredibly disappointed. Firstly there was a band playing and when we got there they told us they couldn't guarantee or promise a wait time despite the fact that there were literally a dozen empty tables.

After we got seated we found out that their menu changed from last year and it felt like it was half the size, and what was left was what felt like a lot of over priced seafood. The new menu made it hard to find a selection.

The food was lackluster. The fries were like rubber. That goes for the entire party. I had the Santa Fe wrap, and someone else in my party did too. His wrap had almost nothing in it besides wilted lettuce. We paid a good amount of money for food we didn't enjoy.

We know that at least 2 other tables had similar issues around us. The waitress was awesome about the situation but the manager was awful. We told him about the bad food and issues with the menu and he asked if we wanted new wraps or fries. We told him no. He brought us another plate of fries anyway which we didn't eat because we were done.

The outside seating area is nice but thats about it. We had to wait at the hostess stand to be seated as per their sign. 4 employees walked past and each one told us someone would be with us. When we were finally seated it took almost 10 minutes for our waitress to come over and take our drink order but then she had forgotten her pen so we had to wait longer. once our drinks were ordered it 20 minutes to get them. The adult beverages were brought but we still did not have the water we ordered for the kids. That took about 5 more minutes to get. The mojito was terrible. The lime wasnt squeezed, mint wasnt muddled and it tasted like only simple syrup was in the glass. Our waitress finally arrived to take our food order but forgot her pad so we had to wait yet again. When she retuned to take the order we all tried to order the 1 dozen clam steamers or half pound shrimp steamers that are featured on the menu as the Saturday and Sunday special. we were informed that they arent doing those today. Instead I was told I could order mussels at double the price of the special as a substitute. We ended up just getting the check for the drinks and leaving. Dont waste your time or money on slow service, bad drinks and lack of food. Next time I will Just stick to the Pike Cafe since they...

Went here for my first time for a night out and it wasn’t good at all. There was no bouncer at the door so nobody and nothing was checked. If you are not a regular or do not know the bartenders you’ll be waiting at the bar a little while and people that come after you will be served first. People were snorting coke in the men’s bathroom and were offering it to people they didn’t even know (One of the guys I was there with). I was a bartender so I always watch how my drinks are made and almost all of mine were under poured. Lastly I was charged almost $20 extra for drinks I didn’t get because I had a tab open. Unfortunately I didn’t realize the mistake until after I closed out. (Either close out every time you order or if you have a tab check your bill before closing) The place is nice however it’s open lots of tables and chairs, games, a dj and the decor are great but as far as service and the crowd it’s pretty bad. The only good thing was cricket the bar manager who cleared up the bill situation and credited me for next time. He was very kind and patient and I truly appreciated that. The bartender with the cool mustache was also nice and helpful but the other bartenders not so much the girl bartender had an attitude and was just not pleasant unless someone came up...
