Mayflower Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Lower Pottsgrove Township

Went for lunch and ended up getting to meals one for lunch and one for dinner. Spent $13+ on two specials. The person at the counter was pleasant and friendly. The food was disgusting. I thought I ordered a chicken wing and fries special and a general tso chicken lunch special. I apparently ordered the chicken tender special. To my surprise I couldn’t identify a chicken tender nor a chicken wing that I thought I’d ordered. I called to see if I could return that order and get what I wanted which was the wings. The person on the phone was nice and she spoke to someone about the misorder. They informed me to throw it away and I would have to pay $7 more for the wings that I thought I had order. I decided to no bother with it as the “tenders” were a huge turn off and was just going to make due with the other item. but everything took a turn once I tasted the fries and a piece of the general tso chicken. Everything tasted like grease. Gallons of grease. And hard stale breading. It was not edible. The rice was dry and stiff. The shrimp roll was bland and dry. I hardly saw cabbage when I broke it. This was such a huge disappointment as not only did I not have lunch I didn’t have dinner and wasted $13 because both dishes went in the trash just as you see in...

I am happy to pay higher prices due to inflation for convenience and good quality food.

I tip on takeout.

If an order is wrong within reason I suck it up and don’t call to complain or for a credit.

This holiday I ordered $150 of food for Christmas Eve. The disappointment was huge.

(2) Spare ribs dry and flavorless. (2) Mongolian Beef ALL ONIONS)- 7 slivers of beef. King Pao chicken and cashew chicken tasted exactly the same and were both overwhelmed with “filler veggies”. (7) shrimp rolls - ALL CABBAGE - slight crunch.

I did get bean sprouts in my pork fried rice which was fine, as was the soup and fried wonton.

The lack of meat in eat of the meat dishes was obvious when portioned out with 6 people.

The soy sauce and hot mustard saved the day.

If you’re going to charge more give me the pre Covid amount of meat and add all the celery and carrots.

I had food delivered from Beijing Gardens. I have never been so disappointed with an order. With all of the Chinese food options around the Pottstown area, I cannot believe that this place can remain in business. It was horrible. I ordered Sweet and Sour Pork, it was cooked to the point that it was hard to chew on. HOW DO YOU MESS UP SWEET AND SOUR PORK? The Wonton soup broth tasted like they took off their socks and dipped them in dishwater and then added a few wonton noodles. That is not hyperbole.
