This place is wonderful. The staff here is super at what they do. They are very knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients. They are fast at getting your order and making sure your drinks are topped off. They will also help you find something new if you like. I have never had any issues with the food here either. It has always been hot, fresh, and good. And that's for dining in. As for carry out. I have done both call in orders and online orders. Call in orders were extremely simple they are also very accurate when it should be ready. There have only been a few times that I had to wait for food to finish getting prepared. But they would check on you , if inside would offer to bring it to your vehicle or if outside they will keep you in the loop on what is up with your food. Online orders were just as simple and you can pull up and park in the pick up area and they will come out and bring your food to you. And if I'm not mistaken, if you order a meal you will always get a small chips and salsa at no extra cost. El Paisita opened in April 2015 in the building that previously housed Lil G's Cajun Market. It's just south of Burris Market and on the right side of the street as you head south on Highway 59.

I stopped in to sample their food but didn't want a whole dinner plate. From the a la carte menu, I ordered the Shredded Beef Chimichanga with a side of Guacamole and Nopales Fritos. The shredded beef was very flavorful in the light crispy fried tortilla. The nopales were cooked with cayenne peppers which added just the right amount of heat to the sour cactus. Their guacamole and salsa were a little weak for my taste but their homemade tortilla chips were great! Javier, my waiter, suggested Churros for dessert since I was avoiding dairy products today. Wasn't for us. Birria tacos we ordered were flavorless and soggy before we dipped them into the sauce (the sauce was good) and allowed no substitute on rice or beans , my friend had missing items on there torta & I also asked why my margarita was not salted on the rim when I asked for it and everyone else's was around me was and she never got me another one. Our canned street corn was not brought out until after dinner was over & the final issue was at the restroom there is a hallway with a door that has the bathroom and kitchen doors as well in it .
