Unforgettable Culinary Experience at China House in Lucerne Valley, CA!

Tonight, my husband and I had the pleasure of dining at China House in Lucerne Valley, CA, and I must say, it was an experience we won't soon forget. From the moment we walked through the door until the time we left, every aspect of our visit was fantastic.

The first thing that caught our attention was the incredible food. We indulged in the vegetable chow mein, vegetable fried rice, and spring rolls, and they were absolutely amazing. Each dish was bursting with delicious flavors, leaving us craving more with every bite. The chefs at China House truly know how to create mouthwatering dishes that perfectly highlight the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Whether you're a vegetarian or simply appreciate well-prepared vegetable dishes, these menu options are an absolute must-try.

The staff at China House was undeniably remarkable. From the warm and welcoming hostess who greeted us at the entrance to the attentive servers who catered to our every need, their hospitality truly stood out. They went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was flawless. Their friendly and knowledgeable demeanor added an extra touch to the evening, making us feel like valued guests.

The service at China House was top-notch. The staff's attention to detail was outstanding, and they seemed to anticipate every customer's needs. From the moment we sat down at our table, we were impressed by the little things they did to ensure our satisfaction. Whether it was promptly refilling our water glasses or promptly clearing away empty dishes, their efficiency and attentiveness were commendable. Moreover, their thoughtfulness extended beyond just the meal. The way they handled packaging leftovers and providing toothpicks and wet wipes truly showcased their dedication to customer satisfaction.

The overall experience at China House was exceptional, and we cannot wait to return. Dining with my husband tonight was made all the more memorable by the delicious food, including the standout vegetable chow mein, vegetable fried rice, and spring rolls, as well as the amazing staff and impeccable service. China House is a restaurant that easily stands out in Lucerne Valley, CA. We highly recommend visiting for an unforgettable...

I honestly did not want to write this review. I lived in Big Bear for 25 years, and this was the go to place for locals to get off the mountain and out of the snow for a few hours. We would all drive down the hill to the China house for dinner. Very fond memories. The food was awesome, and always consistent. Sadly those days are long gone. Over the past decade it has progressively gone downhill. Have not been here and probably 8 years because of that. Apparently Felix the old owner retired 2 years ago. The new owners are incredibly friendly and hospitable, and the atmosphere is very cozy. Besides that, all I can say is the food was horrible. I am a connoisseur of kung pao chicken and have ordered it thousands of times in my life. But this was absolutely the worst I have ever had. Did not taste like Kung Pao sauce or anything close. It tasted more like sour lemon juice. It was completely Bland and tasteless. It was truly awful. My wife got the lemon chicken, and it was Bland and tasteless too. The wontons were obviously in the freezer for months and you could definitely tell they were completely freeze dried, stale and horrible. The only thing that was even edible was the egg flour soup with corn soup and the egg roll. The lunch specials are $14, and the rest of the menu is very overpriced, especially for this area where people are not obviously not rich. The dinner combos are $30 per person now. You can just about have a lobster dinner at Red Lobster for the same price as eating here now. I had such a bad taste in my mouth after eating that I actually had to chew on the lemon wedge in the water and gargle a bit to try and get the awful taste out of my mouth. Sadly I must bid a fond farewell to...

This had become our favorite chinese restaurant after our favorite closed due to the pandemic. The owner was always nice. We had become regulars with them. The food is good but on our last visit we ordered to go. We just live 8 minutes away. We ordered three items and mine was orange chicken which i have had every time I eat there. This time it tasted off, I ate 2 pieces and the smell hit me. It was ammonia. I could taste it and smell it, I had my husband smell it and he smelled it also. I took it back and quietly told the girl working that it was bad. She got the owner and he asked if I wanted something else. I said no!!! I'm not hungry now, my skin fells prickly and I have no appetite, plus I still taste ammonia. He was rude, as if it was my fault. He said I should have checked it. Really? Mine was on the bottom of the bag and he wants me to taste and smell everything before I leave? That is ridiculous and even if I did, I had paid for it and still would have wanted my money back if I found it to be bad. He said they don't do refunds. He just continued to be rude as if it was me by saying he has served it all day with no complaints. SOOO!!! He then just wanted to give me part of the money and I said no. I want the cost of my food, just the chicken I ordered. So anyone getting take out, take time to go through everything before you leave. I won't eat there again, not just because the food was bad but because of the way...

China House was great! I guess they have been here for many years, but we just found it. There is a real shortage of Chinese food restaurants in the High Desert. The food was great, and the people are very friendly and nice, and service was great! They have a really nice green tea, which is brought to the table with the water and the crispy noodles, it's complimentary. We had a fried rice, a chow mien, and the Mongolian beef. Everything was really good. The fried rice was fluffy and good, with a nice amount of all ingredients, and good flavor. The noodles were equally good and tasty. The Mongolian beef was really good, the beef was tender and tasty. It had bamboo shoots as an ingredient, I'm not used to seeing that, usually it's just the beef and onions, scallions, garlic, soy sauce...but it was pretty good too. We've been hoping for a good Chinese restaurant within reasonable driving distance from Apple Valley, and finally we found it! We'll definitely be returning, and I recommend this place to anyone close enough to make it an option, it's awesome!

The food was alright but very expensive. They also changed us an extra rice that we didn't even eat. Their version of wantons is a fried chip with a corner folded, nothing in it, what a waste. The chow maine noodles were way over cooked, they were so mushy. They only thing good to me was the orange chicken and fried rice. After eating here a coworker told me they stopped eating here because they found out that the owners take the waitresses tips. The food wasn't even good enough to come back for in the first place but if that's really how they're doing their waitresses then I'll never come back, I don't support treating workers like that.

Went to the China House in Lucerne Valley yesterday for dinner. I used to come here alot along time ago but found out yesterday during my visit that they have changed ownership since the last time I've been there. I don't wanna sound like I'm bashing the new owners but this place no good anymore. Below is a picture of Mongolian Beef (there was almost no beef) and "Fried Rice" (actually Spanish rice). However staff were very friendly. Sadly we will not be returning after yesterday's visit.
