We ended up here after skiing all day. We arrived at 4 pm, before the rush and sat at the bar. After we sat down, the restaurant began to get busy. The bartender (Amanda) was excellent and made a lovely cocktail and helped make recommendations for dinner. We ordered the short rib pappardelle & bucatini and when the entrees arrived I could smell that the bucatini entree smelled burnt and after tasting it, we confirmed that it was indeed burned. When Amanda asked how the food was, we told her that the bucatini was burned and she immediately sent it back to the kitchen. She said that they were going to remake my dish… This is where things took a turn in the wrong direction. While I waited and waited, my fellow diner finished their meal, which was delicious. We waited about 25 minutes and the weather outside took a turn for the worst so we asked to have the food packaged to-go. I figured I’d rather eat it in the car on the drive home than sit there and eat alone. They gave us the check which we paid - why were we charged for a meal we were still waiting for? At this point, the bar was very busy and Amanda had her work cut out for her so we went to management to inquire about my meal. A female manager in a cat sweater promised to check with the kitchen to see if it was almost ready (she didn’t.) We stood awkwardly in the dining room trying to get her to refund us for the food that never came so we could get on the road. When the manager refunded us for the dinner she actually acted like she comped us! It was so unprofessional and confusing. This place seems to have potential, but the management seems to be lacking experience and the high standards that you’d expect from this new high-priced restaurant.

My wife and I had an incredible experience at Terra Italian Steakhouse. From the moment we walked in, everything was outstanding—fantastic food, top-notch service, and a great atmosphere. I ordered the 12oz filet with Gorgonzola sauce, and it was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, flavorful, and downright heavenly. My wife had the seafood pasta, and she absolutely loved it. We also started with the scallops appetizer, which was perfectly seared and packed with flavor. Our waiter was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and took great care of us throughout the night. He mentioned he was from Delaware and had just gone skiing for the first time, which made for a fun conversation. If you’re looking for an unforgettable steakhouse experience, Terra Italian Steakhouse is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!

This place was fantastic! The food, atmosphere and hospitality were all on point and I would love to return. It was lively and busy at 9pm on a Saturday, which suprised me for the area. We had the crab cakes and the burrata salad to start. Crab cakes were fresh with giant pieces of lump crab. The burrata salad had local burrata and was full of toppings. The pasta I got was very rich and meaty, and I loved the polenta in the osso buco. Prices are on the higher end but everything was high quality, lots of homemade/local dishes and fresh. Would like to return.

I will start off with the wait staff was outstanding. The restaurant is stunning. Our waters never went dry and the cocktail I ordered was perfect. Our waitress recommended a great bottle of wine which was priced very well. We ordered the burrata to start and we shared it with our table and it was complimented with the house bread and oil. The night started off very strong and took a turn after our apps were done. It took an HOUR AND A HALF for our OVER COOKED pork chops to come out. The Filet Mignon was dry but the temp was cooked properly. The scallop app we ordered as an entree was perfectly cooked and delicious. All in all the entrees really weren't good besides the scallops. Our waitress also knew and commented on how our pork and filet looked dry and overcooked. Management made no attempt to comp a dish or event a dessert which I found odd for knowingly dropping the ball. From an economic stand point we understand getting the proper help to run a high end restaurant in ludlow Vermont is probably VERY difficult and this place is BRAND NEW. There are going to be kinks and im sure the investment made into the place has hindered management from trying to give away freebies. We are locals and I wouldn't write this the place off. This place feels special and I believe they have the formula to be successful but that will take a proper captain taking the helm and putting the crew in...

I’m not happy after having a great dinner with great service then getting a big surprise when the bill arrived. I was up-charged 12 dollars per martini. I ordered a Tito’s dirty martini. I was asked if I wanted it up and I said yes because that’s standard for martinis. We were charged an extra $6 for olive juice to make it dirty AND ANOTHER $6 to have it up (aka without ice). My husband and I were floored. We’ve been to some high end steak houses and have never seen this. I even googled if this was normal “ No, it's not typically considered "normal" to specifically upcharge for a martini ordered "up" (meaning straight up, without ice) as this is the standard way to serve a martini, and most bars would include the price of a standard martini in their menu price” was what I found. We even spoke to the manager on the way out and said we had a great experience but to have 25% of the dinner bill spent on upcharges is outrageous, we only got a “sorry we just opened”. I really hope they don’t do this to others because that’s a scam and they have a great staff...
