Beaver's Den — Restaurant in Lugoff

After two and a half hour drive the first restaurant that I had found on Google maps to eat lunch at was closed due to a private event which they did not disclose on their website pulled up Google maps again I found this restaurant across the lake from the first restaurant through 45 minutes around the lake to eat at this establishment this restaurant also located on the Lakeshore . The restaurant had pretty good views of the lake from an upper deck that was a stage below on the ground looks like they have live music that were about 10 picnic tables lined up out from the stage and a covered dining area also off to the side of the pygmy tables facing the stage probably a pretty good place to listen to some live music The interior of the restaurant had some interesting decor mainly Halloween themed there were some pretty good items on the menu and the server I had Olivia listed some specials that sounded good I just couldn't make up my mind one of the specials was crab roll I just has a really good crab salad sandwich at another restaurant weekend before so I chose that one I didn't think to ask if it was imitation crab or not it was imitation crab The server didn't disclose that but it's been quite a while since I've done at a restaurant that served sarimi and called it crab Olivia's service was great She was friendly but not inappropriately familiar Olivia was also very attentive but not overbearing. The french fries that came with the crab roll or perfectly done and very tasty I also had asked for highs 57 instead of catch up and Olivia brought me a bottle of that without question it's just unfortunate that I ended up with imitation crab meat it wasn't horrible but it definitely was not as good as real crab meat. I would recommend this restaurant but I would not recommend ordering...

My husband had been out here several times on the Harley with friends on rides. We thought we would just cruise out here on a Sunday for a nice lunch at the lake. The deck over looking the lake is nice. Atmosphere was nice. Music playing was good. The waitress we had was polite and personable. It was clean and well kept, which is hard to do with outside seating. The food was overpriced and horrible. Sunday special was a prime rib sandwich basket with fries or chips. $16.95. It was worth maybe $10. And $10 is a stretch as there was no substance to it. One sandwich was all fat and served cold. You expect fat with prime rib. This was all fat. Couldn't eat it. The fries were blah. The au jus and horseradish were actually very good and thank gosh because it's hard to eat a bun and cheese just straight- had to dip it in the jus. It ended up being the most overpriced grilled cheese, ever. The burger was just ok and came out about 5 minutes after the other 2 sandwiches. It was thick but not very flavorful. It was 59.92 for 2 prime rib sandwich baskets, 1 cheeseburger basket, 2 teas and a Coke. That's ridiculous. The portions were not generous. I told my husband I won't go back there with him, ever. It put such a damper on a good day. After tip it was $70 for a bad lunch. Never again. 3 stars for the view, waitress and cleanliness. (The picture is the fat off the sandwich. Well, it's a cool place, great to hang out. Although a bit pricey. So when you order a 15 dollar Italian sub and a 4 dollar sweet tea at the very least would expect the bread to not be hard, like stale, and that the person in the kitchen would be intelligent enough to not serve it... NOPE. While waiting for service from who is normally a good waitress, the owner/ manager and her just chatted it up, hanging out, and yes I herd the conversation, so I know it had nothing to do with work. And really look at the price for things like raw fries, you can get them for 4 dollars and change or 8 dollars for one with garlic butter parm. Virtually melted butter. Haven't been back in months and won't, these days with the prices of everything, it's time to bring service back and act like you care a little.
