We decided to have dinner at The Tree tonight and I must say that it did not disappoint. What an amazing little gem to have nestled in our little Lumberton!!! We started with the Fried Green Beans, Fried Green Tomato Caprese, and the Crab Stuffed Jalapenos... I cannot even begin to rave enough about the fried green tomatoes. They were battered and fried to perfection and served with fresh mozzarella and a balsamic glaze to create the perfect flavor combination. For my entree, I ordered the 12 oz Premium 1855 Angus Ribeye, Pittsburgh rare with a side of purple hull peas... the steak is handcut and cooked exactly the way I would have cooked my own steak. It isn't often a restaurant meets my speculations on cooking a steak but the chef at The Tree nailed it!!!! It was ideally seared on the outside, locking in all the flavor and rare, rare, rare on the inside. Deliciously perfect! ❤ I also had the red wine reduction and mushrooms with my steak that were the perfect compliment to this perfect steak. ❤😍 Grace did an amazing job, not only serving us, but answering every single question we had and tolerating our presence. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE TREE AND WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!! Next time, I will remember to save room for dessert. 😁 Grace, you were an absolute delight!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ATTENDING TO OUR DINING NEEDS AND WILL SEE YA...
Read moreThe Tree is usually our go to steak place, and after a 12hr shift I deserved one. We sat in the bar and our waiter was ok. He wasn’t friendly but was just ok. He was the same waiter that told us last time, the seats were reserved at the bar. The lady that’s usually in there, every time we come is super friendly and takes care of everything no matter how busy they were. She wasn’t there, but we were still positive that we will have a great time.
I ordered a 12oz ribeye medium rare, and my husband got the 16oz. My steak was tough and wasn’t cooked right. My husband’s steak was ok, not perfect but good enough. I ordered a to go steak for my son, and told the waiter to make sure it is medium rare because mine was tough and dry. He just said ok and looked at my food that I didn’t touch anymore. I took a few bites as I was starving, but just couldn’t eat it as it was tough and dry. Our waiter was ok but was never that friendly. He was really friendly with others. He may have had a bad day, but surely he didn’t served us right.
I was really bothered, because the food wasn’t great nor the service. The service could have compensated it, but the waiter did’t even looked like he wanted...
Read moreI was sadly disappointed with this restaurant. The food was way over priced for what you actually get. Any other restaurant that gives roles during a meal has an endless supply. This place brings your bread early and then charges for more. My chopped steak was thin, undercooked inside and overcooked outside. The gravy was nothing special and I had to ask for more onions because it came with barley a tablespoon to start. Only one side is served with the entree. I chose green beans. They were nothing to brag about either. Decent enough. But nothing to brag about. My daughter had the pasta with Alfredo. She chose to spend an additional amount, again not worth the cost for what you get, to have a "protein", ok it was chicken for $8 more, added. That was the cost for one thing piece of grilled chicken breast. And even then, it was nothing special. Bland and unimpressive. She didn't eat it all and she normally eats anything. The staff was friendly and helpful. That was the bright side. In all, I could have saved $20 by going to a chain Steak House and received endless bread, better tasting food and a much better selection of entree's and sides. I will never...
