We have been to this restaurant 3 times. On the first couple of times the experience was a 4 star, but the last time it was a 2, so we are giving it 3 on average. We ordered 2 steak dishes amongst other things. Both steaks were ordered medium. When served, one was rare and the other totally over done and both were luke warm. Once we notified the staff, they suggested to warm up the food, which is impossible for the over cooked steak, so we gave that back because each person in the family would end up eating at a different time. The manager removed the cancelled dish from the check as if this was a favor to us, and gave us no other compensation for our spoiled family lunch. Removing a cancelled dish from the check is an obligation, not a treat. Many other places where we have been and this has happened, have graciously handled the situation with a little treat from the kitchen, or removing another dish from the check, or something else. Read moreWe "discovered" this little Gem on a Jeep ride Early this summer and what a treat it is. The drinks are good, the atmosphere is dated but not rundown/shoddy. I like that kind of thing. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer was on point and had a nice tangy dipping sauce. We had sandwiches the first time and all were amazing. The second trip was last weekend and we were there a little later so we had dinner. The prime Rib was well cooked and served over the top of Mash Potatoes and also greens. We again had the Coconut shrimp app and again it was great. Drinks were good and they were also training a new staff member. Engaging and funny- great food and simply great all around. We wanted to do the outdoor patio space (which is super cool) but it was borderline too cold for how we were dressed. Definately a...
Read moreTraveling far and wide, taking in all aspects of the culinary and hospitality world, and truly enjoying atmosphere has brought me to the conclusion that for this quaint town of Lyme, Latham House Tavern is as good as it gets. Excellent craft beer selection with nice traditional hand pumps give you a naustalgic feeling of the first time you visited a pub. The low lights and deep colored horseshoe bar makes you feel like you are with family and being taken care of with your best interest in mind. Many of the folks are local and come in on a regular basis. Friendly and always good for a conversation, the staff is wonderful. Some excellent bartenders have blessed me with their presence at this establishment. The food is exactly what you would expect and more. Perfect portion and...
