the first time I ever had BB’s baby donuts was at a bowling alley when someone brought one of their mini donut cakes. It was delicious and since that day I made sure I had the info in my back pocket for any special occasion. When we got engaged, it made sense that we’d reach out and find out what they could do for a wedding! I connected with Debbie and we talked about have trays of donuts along with some other deserts from other vendors. So my fiancé and I went and sat down to do a donut tasting- is there anything more magical? We got to taste about 10 different flavors that she put together for us. At the end of the tasting Debbie asked if we’d ever had the donuts warm. We hadn’t- we’d only ever had the cake and tray donuts. She immediately got us a container of warm cinnamon sugar donuts and I think my life changed when I had my first bite. I didn’t think anything could get better than what we just tasted! We grabbed a couple more warm donuts, put down our deposit for the trays, and left. However, the taste of those warm donuts sat with me. I knew they had an option to make donuts on site, but it was out of our budget. I constantly bugged my fiancé about the right thing to do and we probably had a dessert conversation 20 times (sorry, Bob). I was toying with the idea of scrapping all other deserts and cutting cakes to just do the on site donuts but wasn’t brave enough to pull the trigger. Well, my fiancé was. Without me knowing, he cancelled all deserts and worked with Debbie on coming out to serve on site! I found out about a week before their wedding when we were nailing down serving logistics and was so happy. It’s exactly what I wanted but what I didn’t have the courage to make happen. Debbie was a dream to work with- she came out and visited the venue just so she had a good idea of her set up. She was extremely flexible, allowing us to change our deposit over to on site even though it had been made for the trays. We’re very excited to continue to use BB’s and Debbie for future events/milestones...
Read moreWe were meandering around Western springs waiting to get into my dentist appointment. I found the little gem on Yelp with 4.5 stars and let me tell you, they are deserving of every bit. Deb is cheerful and just as sweet as her creations. The atmosphere is light and happy! The music is 50's and every once in a while you can hear Deb singing along. We ordered a dozen and picked 3 flavors. We weren't disappointed! Cinnamon Roll, Fluffer Nutter and Maple Bacon. Deb shared some very quaint details about the background of how some of the flavors came to be. This is a family affair and they enjoy whipping up new ideas. Of the flavors we shared, Maple bacon is my FAVORITE! The bacon is crunchy and the maple is sweet and creamy (without being all sugary). The Fluffer Nutter was a delight with the savory marshmallow and peanut butter drizzle. ( and not a sticky mess, like magic) The Cinnamon Roll had an abundant dusting that coated the rich, fluffy donut. I will return and bring friends. Thanks for the...
Read moreBeware this place may become addictive for donut lovers. I think once you visit you will be visiting again for sure! I stopped by to grab just a couple donuts but ended up buying a dozen and a half. I couldn't decide what flavor donuts to buy so I bought three flavored donut including maple/bacon, snickers, blueberry dream and plain. They are mini sized donuts that are made fresh in shop. I also bought a large cold brew with milk which had a good flavor. The lady that helped me was very patient while waiting for me to decide on which donuts to buy. The atmosphere is friendly and seems to be popular with a lot of local people. I will be back for sure! I want to try a few more of the flavored donuts. There is a place to sit outside and a walk up window for a quick stop and shop. They apparently have a lunch as well which includes a hot dog, chips drink and donuts (see menu board photo). Overall, this little donut shop is a great addition to the shopping area near the train stop...
