I called ahead to place my order, for their Friday special of fish sandwich and broccoli soup. The soup was hot and tasty. The fish was served on a toasted bun. So far, so good. BUT... When I called in my order, I was asked if I wanted tartar sauce. I replied yes, on the side. Here is where things went sour. Upon checking my receipt, I discovered they had charged an extra 25 cents for the tartar sauce! I had not asked for EXTRA sauce, just wanted to have it on the side. That took off one star from my rating. What was even worse, though, was that my credit card was charged more than my receipt showed. I called to inquire why, expecting it to be some clerical error, and was informed that they charge extra if you use a credit card. I was told there is a sign to that effect by the register, but since I'd placed my order by phone, I had not seen it. I would certainly have paid cash, had I known. And, why does my receipt not SHOW the added upcharge? To me, this is deceptive. That is why I took another two stars off my review. What a shame, that a neighborhood eatery that serves tasty food would ruin their reputation by nickel and diming customers...
Read moreMy order was delivered, I ordered the gyro sandwich with extra 2oz sauce (which I paid for). There 2 extra sauces were missing and I was charged for them, Uber returned less than half of the original charge for the sauce. The gyro sandwich had a whole sliced onion on it and the onions were placed on the sauce. If I removed the onions all the sauce went with them. Which wouldn't have been a problem if I had received the extra sauces I ordered. So there were 2 options, eat a dry gyro or an onion gyro, the onions over took the whole favor of the sandwich. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy my meal or the service provided.
In reply to Jimmy's reply to me. I was charged $1.50 for 2 (2oz sauces), neither of the two were delivered to me. In regards to the onions, there isn't an option for easy onions. Choice is everything on sandwich or no tomatoes, onion or sauce. I have never had a gyro sandwich with SO much onions and one silce of tomato. This was the first time I ordered from Jimmy's and there won't be a...
Read moreI've been a patron of Jimmy's for years. I'm sad to say this, but things don't seem to be as good as they used to be. I visited several times in the past few months, and each time I got fries which seem to hardly have any salt. Jimmy's used to have the perfect amount of salt on their fries every time. Also not a fan of the new interior design, seems rather boring and I miss the vintage memorabilia which really added to the experience when dining in. And probably the most annoying thing is that they are charging near a 4% credit card fee. I understand that it costs the establishment money if customers use credit cards, but 4% is excessive. I hope that Jimmy's returns to its former glory soon.
Update: 8/6/22; I have given Jimmy's several chances to redeem themselves over the past few months, but their quality has fallen so much. The fries have no salt added and they switched to a very low quality cheese wiz. Customer service is lacking. I will probably never return. I miss the...
