First time visitor | local...
Since The Opry is just blocks from my house, I was admittedly excited about the idea of having a local, homegrown spot for my town. I would likely support The Opry regardless of what it delivered....despite any out-of-the-box shortcomings for this brandnew place. Fortunately, my excitement wasn't a factor in my first two experiences. This place is amazing!
I went this morning (my 1st time) to try the coffee. It was terrific and I'll definitely be back. I went again this evening to try the cocktails and again, I was stunned at how good they were -- and they're still figuring things out! Imagine where the bar program will go.
Clearly, this is not a neighborhood spot that seeks to succeed on CONVENIENCE; this is a neighborhood spot that seek to succeed on QUALITY and HOSPITALITY. It is a legit destination for well-thought-out coffee / cocktail & music (admittedly, i've only seen this from the outside looking in as I walked by, but I can tell it's well done). I love it.
For background (and I don't mean to brag here...so don't hate on me...I'm just trying to give some perspective on my experience) but I'm a restaurant / bar owner in Chicago at some places that have been lucky enough to be top-rated in the city and the country so I've seen talent. This team is talented, yet it retains a genuine neighborhood welcoming vibe that I personally very much want to see in this world. Hat's off to Dan (the owner, who I haven't met), Krista & Kate (lovely hosts at the bar), Charlie & Jasmine (at the morning coffee bar). Thank you! And that's just the folks I met on Day ONE!
A place that combines talent and quality with unpretentious and genuine hospitality is incredibly rare. When you find it...you support it.
Thank me later by buying me a drink. I'll...
Read moreWhat a cool place! A little slice of country music and great cocktails right here in Western Springs. I love the vibe and all the things they do – coffee shop, bar, craft cocktails, incredible selection of wine and liquor for purchase (at great prices), event space, and intimate listening room to showcase country artists...wow! The owner travels to source the artists and we get the benefit of an incredible lineup of live music! The drinks are delicious and the staff is knowledgeable and fun. I love that they don’t serve food because I never feel like they are rushing me out or trying to turn tables. You can stay as little or as long as you like (dogs and kids welcome!) plus, you can order food in or often there is a food truck. The owner is a supporter of other local businesses which I think is cool and he is very easy to work with if you want to plan an event at the Opry. Always a great experience and the new patio will only add to the fun...
Read moreWow…what is this place even doing here? You walk in and are instantly transported somewhere else…with an awesome playlist buzzin deep cut bluegrass and country tracks. We’ve been to every spot in the area many times and this is by far the best bar out here. Cocktails are phenomenal, as good or better than anything in the city. They have a bottle shop as well with a small but incredible selection of wine, bourbon, tequila and other spirits. In the morning they serve coffee that is roasted fresh on-site daily and locally made pastries, which we will pay another visit to try. They’re doing a lot here and doing it well! Thank you...
