The food and service were horrible. First off they don't have any legit vegan options. I tried to modify the vegetarian skillet to make it vegan, but they put cheese on it. They made me another one, but it tasted really bad. I tried to eat it but it was not edible mind you I had just ran 11 miles(I say this for reference because after long runs I'm really hungry and even if food is not that good I will still eat it). I don't know if it was the oil on the hashbrowns and the lack of seasoning, but I didn't finish it because it tasted horrible. This was my second time there. My first time there, i had the same thing, but it actually tasted ok. This time, no. Also, the man that brought the food had a really bad attitude which passed me off. He told us, "Hurry up. I have work to do." Well, he should be thankful that we're eating there. Otherwise, he wouldn't have work. On the second trip, he just left one of the plates on the table and didn't give it to who it belonged to. We also kept on asking for more coffee and water, and they took a long time til they finally served us more coffee and water. Also, my first time there, I tried to replace the non vegan pancake that comes with the skillet for a side of fruit, and the big woman gave me a bad attitude. I will never go there again and tell all my running friends not to go there anymore because that's where they go after ours runs since it's the closest restaurant. I would rather drive an extra 10 minutes to Lagrange. Alv con este restaurante. The lady that rang me up still had the nerve to ask for a tip SMH. Muy mala actitud de el vato que nos...
Read moreMother's Day is supposed to be special. Especially celebrating it at a nice restaurant with your mom, in-laws, grandma whoever it is, you would want to cherish those memories right? Well, it is a nice small place with not a lot of room to be comfortable to get up and sit down and adjust the seating. The servers there are very efficient and excellent at providing good customer service. Of course, you'll have that one server who maybe is not having a not-so-good day but as their job to provide that expectation of good customer service. I think maybe retraining is the proper step regarding how to serve people. For instance, bringing out hot coffee is well, hot correct? Hot coffee can burn if spilled on someone or someone's child's head. That would be a terrible accident that no one would want to see happen. I think most people with common sense if you have something hot and dangerous that could potentially cause injury. It shouldn't be passed over anyone's head or face. Today was one of those days where an accident could have happened but I'm thankful it did not. A server passed over my child's head with a pot of hot coffee and didn't regard any considerations of "their" actions. They could have walked around to the person who wanted coffee and then proceeded with pouring it into their cup. NOT CROSSING OVER PEOPLE. That is my...
Read moreThree stars in life, but probably four for the area. It's one of only a few places in the area for a bit after a jaunt in one of the many Cook County Forest Preserve areas nearby. They accommodated our large group, pushing several tables together. Service was sort of bizarre but fine. They took orders randomly, and half the table got its food (but not all at once) before the other half had even ordered because the one server was taking orders and bringing the food as soon as it was ready, alternating between taking orders and bringing out orders, but all to our table. This led to a bit of annoyance and a disjointed meal. Still, the food obviously came quickly and was made fresh, and was solid diner food. The staff was nice enough, but not effusive or anything. People liked the omelets and pancakes. The patty melt was very good, although the rye bread didn't have much rye flavor. The French onion soup also lacked flavor, but wasn't unpleasant. The fries were average medium thickness diner fries, but were nice and crispy. They also gave us each a separate check, which was very much appreciated. $10 minimum for credit cards. They have a small but just-adequate parking lot outside, although I'm sure parking on the streets wouldn't have...
