We thought we’d give this restaurant a try since we saw it was new to the community. It’s very small compared to other restaurants in town. I wouldn’t recommend bringing a whole party of people in since it’s very crowded inside. Upon, entering we weren’t greeted, just a lady that gave us a stank look once we entered, not sure what that was about. Anyways, we were close to leaving since it took so long for them to recognize that we were evening standing at the entrance waiting to get seated. It was about 10 mins before they seated us, but you know what we still wanted to give them a chance. Im not sure if they’re low staff so the drinks took more than 20 mins to get to us. The food was just ok. It lacked flavor, the portions weren’t enough to satisfy, we ordered their guacamole hence the name of the restaurant and guess what? The guacamole was very disappointing, not enough avocado! The reviews on here are deceiving, I rather go somewhere else for better food and definitely better service.
update: comment from the owner just justifies that customer service is done poorly. 👎🏼 owner didn’t even comment about how the service could of been made up for or been done better, just a lousy “not a fast...
Read moreMy wife and I hail from the Phoenix Arizona area, where there are 130 Mexican restaurants in Maricopa County alone (not a typo). To say that we are familiar with good Mexican food would be an understatement.
There’s a certain amount of wisdom to saying that a restaurant should have a decent amount of variety but not to overload a menu to the point where very few things can be made well, and most will be made in a mediocre manner. Please take a look at the amount of items on their menu above
Guacamole Mexican restaurant makes very solid fajitas, their Micheladas are exceptional, and true to their namesake, their guacamole is superb.
Beyond that, everything is pretty mediocre as far as the base food goes and there only seems to be two types of sauce , the sauce that you encounter is strictly dependent upon the items of food that you order. There is absolutely nothing exceptional to be found and most of the combo plates. I gave a lower score on service, but that may be excused because on the three nights that I have gone and seem to be severely understaffed
Definitely give it a try, but stick to the fajitas and definitely try the guacamole. Beyond that, you were taking...
Read moreIf there was a 0 star I would give it to this restaurant first me and wife’s server had an attitude from the beginning secondly we were the first table to sit down and 2 other tables got their food first third my wife ordered and appetizer of ceviche which is jus precooked shrimp lime and other topping and a fajitas I order 6 tacos different meats on it as my entree my 6 tacos came out before the ceviche and I finish my tacos and her ceviche comes out then the fajitas my wife politely declined wanting the fajitas then they try to force us to take or if we didn’t we would still need to pay We said again politely we’re not paying for food we don’t want or touched our table they proceed to call the cops on us and we explain what the situation was they agreed with us and I start thinking how many times have they forced people to pay for food they didn’t want it’s a shame this is what a restaurant thinks it’s ok to do to it’s customer I would avoid unless you like getting...
