I love coming to this restaurant, but I frequently find myself asking for easy meat on my nachos because of the normal portion - and every time it seems like the word "easy" is just a four letter word. I ordered easy chicken every time, never got easy anything; tried easy beef, same problem. While I'm sure many appreciate generous portions, I sincerely hope there is more attention given when people ask for less. The photo I've attached was my most recent visit where I asked for easy beef. There was an entire layer of beef over every chip and I could only eat maybe half before I had to give up on salvaging my own meal. Additionally, this picture was after stacking the chips from the center of the plate to one side to save what I could eat, so the plate looks emptier than what I actually got down.
At first I thought maybe the easy beef was not heard, so I didn't make a fuss about it in case it was an ordering error, but the server herself walked past and said "So much for the easy beef, huh?", so I knew I wasn't crazy. She was probably nervous I'd raise an issue about it, but I was in a rush to leave so I could work so I ate what I could manage and went on my way. As someone who plans to come back, and who only ever orders the same thing, I hope someone can remind those making the food what light portioning is, because I frequently feel like I can barely eat what I ordered since it's hard to eat nachos that are 90% meat even AFTER specifying easy meat.
The service is always great, and for that reason I've bit my tongue and figured it out, but it's happened every time I have came in recent months and it's quite disappointing to pay for a meal I...
Read moreWell, iron skillet or no iron skillet it most certainly has dropped in quality over the years. My mother & I worked at the old Fraser location years ago before they even built the new building and quality was of the utmost importance to them then. Dee ran a tight ship and we had many regulars. Unfortunately the Macomb location doesn't even compare. My coworkers sometimes order lunch from the Macomb store and they NEVER mark on the box what the item is (just lazy & inconsiderate) and one of us is ALWAYS missing something or has the wrong order. The rice has no flavor and the beans are white and dry. Chili has some weird taste now.
I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the hot sauce, it cant even be called salsa anymore because I cant find any real tomato texture in it other than the occasional tomato peel. They used to make it fresh with real tomatoes. And to the owner/manager or whatever your title is, if you are going to argue that you still make your hot sauce homemade that may be true but you totally screwed up the recipe by going cheap. Ah yes. Go cheap. I will say that Esplindido in Shelby is relative to the Martin family and they USED to be really good, surprising because it was strictly carry out. Probably why they didn't cheap out on ingredients. Not sure if they're still there, it's been 8 years since I visited.
Poncho's in Mt Clemens is ABSOLUTELY no better either, we ordered lunch from them one time and OMG what a disgusting mess that was-won't even waste the ink on the details. Just re-read the Macomb review. Oh well, can't be at the top of your game forever, I guess. Adios...

We, the family, have been here several times. Love the puffy tacos every night but tonight. We had a less than desirable experience visiting the restaurant this evening. The tacos shells, meant to be soft and fluffy, were hard and crunchy from over cooking them. Our VERY disinterested, and rather rude, waitress was made aware of this and proceeded to actually hover over my plate literally, looking over my food to judge for herself. She all but moved my food around to confirm in the process. She determined that they were infact "not right"..then offered to "remake" them after we had been in the process of attempting to eat our meal for 10-15 before she came over to see how we were doing. I said no thank you, for obvious reasons, then she proceeded to say, as she immediately turned to walk away, "I'll remove them from the bill." By the time she muttered those words, she was already two tables away, and I had to loudly say that was not my intent. She just said "I know" and "okay" kept moving. I wasn't being a pain or anyting, I was very kind and just pointing out that I was a regular, and the food was not on point this particular visit. Of course when the bill came, nothing had been removed as she indicated would be the case. She dropped the bill and moved on abruptly. The whole visit I felt like we needed to hurry up, suck down our food, and get the hell out! Not at all acceptable. It was an hour and a half before closing, and we immediately ordered, and WE WERE VERY POLITE CUSTOMERS! We took them in a to go box...
