Mattie's — Restaurant in Macon

There's not much there on the menu It's not bad price or anything, and it's not too bad food, but they just don't have a lot there that I would eat. There's only a couple things. i don't eat quanzo cheese and that's what they had on there.you I don't eat American cheese and that's all they had. So I was limited on certain things that I could eat but they do have good food. We probably won't go there unless we get what we got last time every now and then. But I doubt it. I didn't appreciate them telling me that I was fancy because I wanted cheddar cheese and cheddar cheese is not the fancy part it was the quanza. Cheese that they had on their horseshoe, that I don't like, that's one of the fancier cheeses. I was just asking a question i didn't appreciate the sarcasm. She did come to our table and refill. As soon as you walk in the door, you're met with the hustle and bustle of a small space on a very busy night. The bar staff are very friendly.

I ordered a Hangover Burger to-go. I was told 10-20 minute wait time, so I arrived at about 15 minutes. The estimate was accurate, as my food came out 5 minutes later.

Ten minutes later I got home to eat and was very excited as this was my first time here.

The burger was as good as burgers usually are. The slight pink in the middle told me it was made from fresh ground beef as opposed to frozen. That's a rare commodity in the bar scene out here. The buns were fluffy. The cheese was melted. My only beef was that the sauce, which is a pepper cream sauce, was really mild. The bacon was chewy, which isn't necessarily wrong, I just like it crispy.

Overall a good experience. I wouldn't say no to coming back. 3/5.

P.S. They have those battered and seasoned fries that are the gold standard...

When they first opened their food was great. Now it's just crap. Ordered a burger once again tonight and for the third time in a row it has barely any flavor, is overcooked and extremely dry and the bun was also old and dry. Substituted hot cheese balls for fries and they were so over fried they were dark brown and hard to even bite. And it cost me over $17 for that even.

When I called my order it they told me 15-20 minutes. I showed up at 18 minutes and after paying for my food I had to wait for another 15 minutes before my order was finally done, and there were less than 8 people in the whole place at the time on a Sunday afternoon.
