It was sticky..... we went for a late lunch. The tables were extremely sticky. We were told by the server that it was because of the finish on them. Seriously!? Then get some table cloths! No one likes to have to peel their cutlery and napkins off of a surface. It felt dirty. It tore my napkin...ugh...
On to the food....meh....
The nachos were dry chips with cheddar melted on them... like when you pour cheese on chips and melt it in the oven...could've made the EXACT same disappointing thing at home. The chicken on said nachos was also very bland and dry. But still edible. The "famous" bread sticks were probably the best thing that we tried. Dont get too excited. They were fried like a donut and served with sauce. The sticks were slightly crispy on the outside and very soft on the outside. The sauce was just okay...it was sauce. I had a pulled pork sandwich with a whiskey barbecue sauce...bland and chewy....

Read moreThis place is hardly even mediocre. Being a place known for pizza, you'd think that would be one of their good dishes. Their crust is okay, but the sauce tastes exactly like (and has the consistency of) straight up tomato paste from a can. Absolutely no seasoning, very bland and mushy. The first time I went in there and ordered a Guinness, it tasted incredibly watered down. Not kidding, like they had water in their beer lines or in the glass before serving it. Their tap list is pretty disappointing, with more macro brews than local craft brews.
The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is the cheese curds and whisky prices. The cheese curds are tasty and come in a very generous portion and their whisky (scotch) prices are reasonable.
Overall this place cannot even begin to hold a card to the Tap Room that was here before. The Tap Room had amazing food and an...
Read moreThis is the 3rd restaurant in this location since I moved in on the other side of Midvale 8 years back. It's a relative of Dahmen's Pizza Palace on the West Side. I gave the Open Faced Meatball Sandwich (I don't know why they called it open face, it was a regular ole meatball sandwich) and Special Bread Sticks a try. They shared one thing in common that ruined the entire meal for me: the spaghetti/marinara sauce. It was a very very dark red, almost as if burnt. And it tasted bitter. I could only finish part of the sandwich, and even then it was only by scraping off as much of the sauce as I could. I remember some of the food at the other Dahmen's being soso-alright, so I'll probably give this one another shot, just nothing that has their...
