I recently had the pleasure of dining at Donahue's Madison Beach Grille, and let me tell you, it was an experience that left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that this place takes hospitality seriously. We were a party of five, and even though the restaurant was bustling with activity, we had reserved a table in advance, ensuring a seamless start to our afternoon.
First things first, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? Every dish we tried was an absolute delight to the taste buds. The cod fish was cooked to perfection, the DJ nachos were a flavorful explosion, and the clam chowder was rich and comforting. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the today's special Peppercorn steak dish. It had this incredible balance of flavors that left us all craving for more.
Now, let's talk about the service. It was top-notch. Despite the busy evening, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly added to the overall dining experience.
And let's not forget about dessert. The choco lava cake was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Paired with some delicious drinks, it made for a truly memorable afternoon.
One thing worth mentioning is that there might be a bit of a wait, especially during peak hours. However, I can assure you that it's absolutely worth it. Plus, they have convenient parking space available, which is always a bonus.
In conclusion, Donahue's Madison Beach Grille exceeded all my expectations. Not only did they serve amazing food, but they also made my mother incredibly happy, which is priceless. I highly recommend paying them a visit and trying out their delectable dishes, especially the today's special Peppercorn steak. Trust me, you...
Read moreLet me start by saying I have been here several times before, and in the past, this was a 5 star review. Last night, we arrived and were seated by a very nice hostess within 3 minutes of arriving. Neither the restaurant nor the bar tables were full. After waiting 15 minutes at the table, seeing several wait-staff going by repeatedly, and nobody even acknowledging our presence, I finally went to the bar to get a couple of beers for my wife and I. After waiting to order, ordering, getting the beers, and closing out that check, the server was now at our table. She did not appear happy, but we were now at 19 minutes at the table. We both ordered the fisherman's platters. The order came quickly. Clams, Shrimp, Cod and fries were good. Scallops were raw and I did not notice until chewing and swallowing one. We checked the rest, and all were raw. A manager was walking by and asked how everything was. We showed him without saying anything, and he said OMG those are raw. He offered to redo both platters for both of us. We told him we would prefer to simply eat the other items on the platter and asked if he could just simply bring out the scallops. He agreed and fast tracked the scallops. When they came out, you could see they were a bit darker from frying longer. The server stopped by once or twice to find out what was going on, and we explained. When the scallops came out, he had provided four each instead of three each, like in the original platter. That was kind of him. However, guess what, the scallops were raw. So I guess the long and short of it is this. It's probably a good restaurant. However, don't order the scallops. $100 dinner that was...
Read moreAs a local I’m very disappointed in this establishment. We have been in the area as a family for over thirty years and I would say unless you’re 65+ and dress like the money flows don’t come here. Look at the menu before you come, it’s very limited and pretty pricey. As a family, we were treated very well with the hostess, but as soon as the waitress Maura stepped in it was awful. We have been to plenty of restaurants and spend hundreds of dollars and give good tips. But she was nowhere near this. We have been here a handful of time but this time was the worst. Not enough rounding, didn’t bring us water unlike another waitress who did to another table, didn’t ask if we wanted more drinks, didn’t ask about how the food is going (only once right after we got the food) and knowing we were ordering food to go, had to wait extra time for it. She rounded on other tables more than us and I know because I saw. She kept apologizing when we she messed up including us handing her the check. But thanks to her this place will lose a loyal local customer. And as people who work in the shoreline we will recommend other places such as Lenny and Joe’s, Aqua’s, and chip’s pub and if this place really wants to make good money they should hire better waitress instead of young, inexperienced ones who makes customer feel like they are being...
