My wife and I love the Pho here. In my opinion, the best in the area and the portions are not stingy like other Pho in the immediate area where I would typically still be hungry afterwards. This is the ONLY take-out we would get. We would order here between 1-3 times a week. However, the price increases made over the past 1.5 years have changed that. Going from $12 to almost $17 over the course of 1.5 years seems a bit much. I totally get everything is more expensive now, but Pho is really only broth, noodles, sprouts and a bit of meat. Could inflation really cause an almost 50% price increase on pretty simple and relatively inexpensive ingredients? I only point this out because I can understand price increase, but when you make such drastic changes it pushes people away and causes them to order less or not at all. We went from between 1-3 times a week to maybe once every 3 or 4 months. It used to be a great option because it was healthy, filling, easy and affordable. Now it just feels like an over priced meal. I hope they can continue to do well, but I cant help but think that these drastic price increases are going to do more...
Read moreComing from Southern California, I've been hungry for a decent bowl of Pho somewhere - anywhere - in New Haven. Most of the choices in the city are mediocre at best (see my other reviews) so I've been trying to make stops outside of the city to find some unexpected Pho treasures. This is one of them. Pho Madison sits outside of the charming city center, and it looks quiet and unassuming. The dining room was empty when we visited on a late afternoon in January, which worried me since a good pot of pho takes most of a day to make, and enough traffic to justify. But when the soup came out it looked good, and the broth was more than serviceable. It had flavor and a little weight, and the steak didn't come out raw in the hot soup, but was still tender when served. It was far more than we deserved if there was a pot bubbling in the back for the last 8 hours. We also ordered some Spring Rolls which had a nice snap in spite of the winter, but the accompanied peanut sauce was especially good. I'm sure this place gets a lot of love in the summer, but even in the winter (when Pho is at its best) this place is better than anything you'll find...

Besides pho, their bubble tea is absolutely incredible and their summer rolls and banh mis are amazingly authentic bursting with true Vietnamese flavor. If you asked me if I would give up all other food to eat this, I would without hesitation. They even have some amazing Vietnamese pop music playing which makes me feel like I’m in one of those early 2000s romantic music videos when I eat with my boyfriend. I don’t understand how anyone can live a full life without trying this place out. Please eat here. I will pay you to eat here. Enjoy the pho-tos I uploaded with this review. Please note that this place did not sponsor me to write this review and this is entirely of my own volition as this place has converted me into a pho enthusiast (I don’t like to call...
